“Some major changes seriously required”

We had difficulty communicating with the concierge . We felt they are totally out of date and almost 90% of the information given to us by then were wrong by giving us wrong timings for the places we ask for .. or for instance they gave us the price list of car rentals of 2010 which prices were totally different . The room service is very poor , We had to speak to the guest relations to translate to them our order because they have never got us the order we specifically asked for . By Taxi to puerto banus it is almost a 10 minute drive where other hotels are located in or next to puerto banus . The staff either have to be trained or changed , but the pool is not bad . Anyway i wouldnt recommend this hotel to a young couple !

Area recommendations

Based on the location Vasari looks good because it is a 5 minute walking to puerto banus where everyone hangs out over there but im not sure how good the service is , as per th recommendations from friends it sounded good .

When to go

From May to mis June is th best weather and good sun for tanning and gentle crowd of tourists .

What to pack

Trendy at night .. shorts and tshirts in the morning . But everyone was dressed up in Marbella

Nightlife

Seven , Funky Buddha are all being runned by one company . We had to pay 200 euros for a table . Good music . Fun .

“Best Hotel in Marbella”

The best way to describe the Melia Don Pepe in Marbella is the ultimate in costumer service. The facilities were beautiful and well maintain. Was a real pleasure and we enjoy out stay, and we are looking forward to return in the future, to me and my wife there in no other place to vacation in Marbella but EL Melia Don Pepe.

Area recommendations

The Rock of Gibraltar is 45 minutes from Marbella, also Malaga city, and Fuengirola.

When to go

We when on early February, the weather is very mild 48F at night and high 50's F during the day. Not very crowded, and the rates were excellent.

“Not what I would consider 5 star hotel,”

Hotel is dated, not as charming as it could be, and the hotel staff is uninformed about the area by giving wrong info. Stuffy reception staff acting like unionized employees.

“Best hotel stay ever!”

Excellent service from all staff - very welcoming and helpful and gracious. The hotel itself is beautiful. We stayed in winter and so probably a much different experience than had we stayed in summer as far as the amount of guests and hotel hecticness, but can't really say. We totally enjoyed the delicious hotel breakfasts. The close walking proximity of the hotel to the Marbella promenade and center of town. The staff helped us book tours and taxis when we wanted to venture out further. We really felt at home there. I can't say enough about this hotel. I give it an A++++. I would go again anytime!!

Area recommendations

I would recommend taking the back steps of the hotel that leads you directly onto the promenade where you will find a multitude of restaurants and the seashore and even a supermarket. I also recommend taking a walk in the opposite direction to the center of town. In just a few blocks you can walk to old town which is full of shops and restaurants and churches.
