In a quiet area away from the main block of hotels but only a five minute stroll to Los Almos train station. Two stops and eight minutes from the Airport. A real plus. The trains run on time and they are cheap. You get what you pay for at the Royal Costa. Bearing that in mind I found the food very good with plenty of choise for breakfast and the evening meal (salad selecion excellent). The pool does not have a shallow end so non swimmers beware! Bit of a scramble to get a sunbed if the hotel is busy, especially on weekends. If you are a beach lover, it's a ten minute walk. Rooms clean and perfectly adequate.

I have stayed at this hotel several times before as it is so close to the C1 line. When you arrive at Malaga airport just hop on a train. The station is directly opposite the airport. The trains are so reliable you can set your watch by them and they run every 20 mins. The Royal Sosta is in Los Alamos 2 stops and 3 minutes away on the C1 Fueingarola line. You will see the hotel opposite. The perfect place to stay to visit the Costa Del Sol resorts. The hotel services are excellent for a 3 star rated hotel and the staff are superb. The food however can be disappointing but All Inc is still advisable if you like to use the bar frequently as the local beers and spirits are good.It is what it says it is so no complaints from me !

Not best long weekend away.Posted Sep 21, 2012
Cons: No tea and coffee in room.
Location: Alongside railway but electric so not too noisy, good restaurant top of road.
Having asked for a double bed we arrived to twins pushed together with separate bedding. I asked to borrow an iron and was told to put item in bag for hotel to press at a charge - not what I wanted when it would have taken 10 mins to run iron over. No tea and coffee facilities in room so constantly having to go to bar or out to drink. Tap water okay but glass in bathroom only - so not changed each day. Bathroom disaster as the only way to turn bath or shower on and off was to climb into bath and it was difficult to get out of the curved end without slipping - thank god there was a handle on wall. Not enough sun beds over the weekend when it appears locals can pay to come in - they were given wrist bands, so noisy and crowded. Better by Monday when they back at school. All in all I would use if no where else available. On plus side so close to railway it was easy to get about on very efficient and cheap service.

Good all round hotelPosted Sep 13, 2012
It is well located, clean & friendly. 500 meters from beach. Has it's own nice pool. Food a bit bland but plenty of it. If you want a good clean location on a budget, this is it

Horrible foodPosted Aug 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
I stayed at Royal Costa for two nights before the rest of my friends arrived. It was easily reachable from Malaga Airport with the train (C1 from "Aeropuerto" to "Los Álamos", direction "Fuengirola"; 5 min., € 1,60) I am an orienteerer, so I had planned to do some trail running, regular running and touring biking, but unfortunately the staff didn't know anything about this except that the he could tell me that the "locals" ran along the beach in the evening. Hence I spent the first night running to Torremolinos along the beach and into the city centre to find the tourist information (only open 9:30-13-ish). Very nice along the beach and a lot of other runners at different paces. I was quite pleased with the room itself: Decent view, good bathroom and standard equipped. The A/C was too cold, so I had to switch it off every now and then. The TV was very good as it had a lot of connection possibilities (eg. HDMI and USB). As a runner you would need sufficient nutrition of some sort in order to perform. The hotel could not meet that AT ALL. I only ate breakfast and dinner at the hotel, but both meals were horribly bad: Fat, greasy, non-local and a lot of quick carbs. It wasn't possible the eat anything satiating at the breakfast. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for an all-inclusive stay, as the food will ruin the experience if you would want to eat anything else than fries, sausages and ice cream!
