A Pleasant SurprisePosted Oct 24, 2014
Pros: Simply, good value and nothing disappointed. The free WIFI was good, room cleaned daily if required and nice pool and bar area.
Cons: The only downside was no parking whatsoever, so you are left hunting for a space on the back streets nearby.
Location: Centre of town, about three blocks from seafront and it's bars and restaurants.
Hotel turned out to be better than expected overall. For a 3 star establishment, you get everything you would expect including modern, spacious rooms that include a good size TV and the bonus of a fridge, friendly English speaking staff and a much wider selection for breakfast than we were expecting to!

Good ExperiencePosted Jun 4, 2014
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Small hotel which was lovely, rooms by the pool were very convenient. Located less than 10 min walk from loads of restaurants and bars.

Nice hotel, friendly/helpful receptionPosted May 29, 2014
Pros: The staff were friendly and apart from the issues in the bathroom, it was clean and tidy. Reception staff were particularly helpful
Cons: The only downside for us was the bathroom - a little general maintenance would go a long way.
Location: The location is very good, just a short walk from the beach and the shops/cafes on the sea front. There is plenty of sea front for a good walk
We stayed for only one night at the Itaca, First impressions were good but we were a little disappointed with the size of the twin bedded room. It would have been extremely claustrophobic if our stay had been for more than one night (But maybe we were given that room because we were only staying for the one night?) It was clean but there was a very strong smell of drains in the bathroom, very unpleasant. Also signs of black mould around the shower (A particular no no in my book) the shower curtain was a bit worse for wear and could have done with being replaced.

Well located hotel but interior a bit lacking.Posted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: It is fairly centrally located, and you can get to the beach in five minutes. The main area for eating out is about ten minutes' walk.
Location: Bioparc (the zoo) and El Plaza de Toros (the bullring) are both just a couple of streets away. The Castillo de Sohail (castle) is about 15mins walk.
Enjoyed my stay at the Itaca and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the bathroom wasn't up to much - the shower head attachment fell off the wall on the first day, and the shower head would continually rise up on its own while in use, spraying water everywhere. The design of my bathroom also meant when you drew the shower curtain to have a shower, you blocked out the light from the window/light fitting. I also had problems finding a working electric socket to charge up my mobile. The pool is good, and lots of people chose to spend their time sat on the sun loungers around it.

Pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Room was small but clean and ok for 2 people. Staff were very very friendly and helpful. Pool area lovely with reasonable bar and a good atmosphere. Great hotel for the price.

Good little optionPosted Apr 28, 2013
We were there for 5 days, staff were friendly and helpful when needed (which was rarely - but they were still attentive!). Room was great, they didn't change our towels towards the end of the stay but other than that, kept very clean. Pool is lovely and the bar staff were as well. Would definitely recommend the hotel, a great cheap option, 2 minutes from bars and the beach.

hotel was fine but our room was tiny with no balcony. ask for a room with a balcony is possible. apart from that nice pool, area, good location, 5 mins walk to fish alley, 5 mins to the biopark, 2 mins to the beach.

Good value hotelPosted Sep 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
Very nice and helpful hotel staff, nice pool, and hotel is in max 15-20 min walking distance to everything. Internet was not working in our room and it was a problem in most rooms, as really only available in the lobby area. Other than that, a good hotel for the money.

Excellent budget choicePosted Jul 15, 2011
You get what you pay for. This hotel is clean and comfortable, all rooms have air-conditioning, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. If you're looking for pampering, this is not the place for you. But if you want a budget base that's clean, well located for exploring the surrounding area, and has a small but useable pool, it's a good choice.
