Well located hotel but interior a bit lacking.Posted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: It is fairly centrally located, and you can get to the beach in five minutes. The main area for eating out is about ten minutes' walk.
Location: Bioparc (the zoo) and El Plaza de Toros (the bullring) are both just a couple of streets away. The Castillo de Sohail (castle) is about 15mins walk.
Enjoyed my stay at the Itaca and the staff were very friendly and helpful, but the bathroom wasn't up to much - the shower head attachment fell off the wall on the first day, and the shower head would continually rise up on its own while in use, spraying water everywhere. The design of my bathroom also meant when you drew the shower curtain to have a shower, you blocked out the light from the window/light fitting. I also had problems finding a working electric socket to charge up my mobile. The pool is good, and lots of people chose to spend their time sat on the sun loungers around it.

Pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Room was small but clean and ok for 2 people. Staff were very very friendly and helpful. Pool area lovely with reasonable bar and a good atmosphere. Great hotel for the price.

Good little optionPosted Apr 28, 2013
We were there for 5 days, staff were friendly and helpful when needed (which was rarely - but they were still attentive!). Room was great, they didn't change our towels towards the end of the stay but other than that, kept very clean. Pool is lovely and the bar staff were as well. Would definitely recommend the hotel, a great cheap option, 2 minutes from bars and the beach.

hotel was fine but our room was tiny with no balcony. ask for a room with a balcony is possible. apart from that nice pool, area, good location, 5 mins walk to fish alley, 5 mins to the biopark, 2 mins to the beach.

Good value hotelPosted Sep 3, 2012 on Hotels.com
Very nice and helpful hotel staff, nice pool, and hotel is in max 15-20 min walking distance to everything. Internet was not working in our room and it was a problem in most rooms, as really only available in the lobby area. Other than that, a good hotel for the money.

Excellent budget choicePosted Jul 15, 2011
You get what you pay for. This hotel is clean and comfortable, all rooms have air-conditioning, and the staff are all friendly and helpful. If you're looking for pampering, this is not the place for you. But if you want a budget base that's clean, well located for exploring the surrounding area, and has a small but useable pool, it's a good choice.

The ACUARIUM hotel at FuengirolaPosted Jun 1, 2011 on Hotels.com
It's a nice hotel for the price we pay. It's close to downtown. two negative points: - no parking available - breakfast is poor ( no eggs, no pancake, poor coffee)

Not ImpressedPosted May 25, 2011
Most facilities were out of order or not open. There were ciggarette butts around the pool area and the sunbeds were covered in bird excrement and seemingly never cleaned. The pool bar was not open and the main bar for evenings was closed. Apart from the breakfast there was nothing available. The hotel staff were pleasant. Our room was dirty and dusty and the balcony could have done with a mopping. Our room overlooked the main road through the town and therefore very noisy. On the upside our bathroom facilities were adequate, our bed was clean but the tv did not have more than three channels.

Great for shortbreakPosted May 24, 2010
A friendly hotel, comparatively small, and well located for shops, bars and restaurants. Beach about 10 - 15 mins walk away. Situated on busy road so requesting a room overlooking pool advisable. Breakfast buffet could be better but adaquate [just]. Room telephone and TV didn't work despite early request. Fair value.
