Perfect sea front stay!

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: Comfort and location
Cons: Drinks offer and pool/bar snacks
This is a lovely hotel, brilliantly positioned on the sea front in the centre of Torremolinos, only 15 minutes taxi from the airport. We stayed in a room looking over the pool and the sea and on the 4th floor. Lovely, spacious room with no noise problems and not too hot (we didn't even use the air con). The staff were always very friendly and happy to assist. The breakfast offered a huge choice including Cava! It's not a peaceful, relaxing experience but this is a large hotel. We spent most of our time on the new sun terrace and never had trouble getting a lounger. The spa is also brilliant. The only thing really to say is that we loved the hotel because it was more catered towards adults. There were children around, and they are very welcome however if you are looking for lots of activities for them then this is not the hotel for you.

Excellent stay at Melia Costa del Sol

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Cons: Wi-Fi connection: signal is too weak most of the time. Definitely should be improved.
We stayed five days at Melia Hotel in July 2014, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Location (right next to the beach); room: spacious enough, very comfortable and clean, with furniture in good condition; breakfast: great buffet, many choices, fresh fruit!. Overall, not much to complain about, except the wi-fi connection.

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: REception staff were lovely. hotel room was lovely. near everything so really nicely located.
Cons: nothing, couldnt find a fault
Location: near beach, pubs shops etc
had a lovely stay. Only disappointing thing was my mobile was stolen at reception. Then i used the hotel phone to call home and the bill was 70 euros for 3 calls. Was really upset about this.

Great location

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Location, breakfast, cleanliness
Cons: Perhaps a more helpful friendly reception area
Location: Right across from beautiful sandy beach. Steps beside hotel up to Torremolinos square and shop. Promenade to walk along with.bars/eating/shops.
Much to recommend this hotel- excellent location right near beach. Beautiful rooms kept spotlessly clean. The breakfast offers a comprehensive buffet choice in pleasant surroundings. Waiters, bar staff, maids all very friendly, but surprisingly, found reception staff a bit frosty. Drinks rather expensive- at least 50% more than the most expensive local bars. Entertainment limited- basically singer and keyboard. We were told one morning that 946 breakfasts were being served - although all run very efficiently- everything kept topped up and no feeling of 'queuing'. But when I say there were around 100 sunbeds, most of these away from the pool on a sun terrace, be prepared to pay the 9.50 Euros for two beds and umbrella on beach. Has more the feel of a 'business' hotel than tourist driven. Nonetheless, would definitely stay here again as we go out to the beach and for the evenings and there are so many lovely restaurants and bars around. i think it would be hard to beat it's location!

Good hotel on the paseo Maritimo

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Pros: Even when the hotel is full, there is always a calm relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: The pool could be bigger, although never seemed overcrowded. The area for sun loungers near the pool was being made bigger, with four new showers.
Location: Torremolinos has both good bus and train service, and there is a taxi rank in front of hotel. There is plenty to do for young and old near by.
We have stayed at this hotel many times, both in winter and summer, and the overall standard is excellent. Staff are cheerful and polite, and always willing to meet ones needs. The buffet breakfast is vast, catering for all tastes, even champagne on ice!.

Beach Beacons

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Pros: location, location, location
Cons: no.
Location: Easy to take elevator up to older part of town to access more shops and restaurants, bus station, etc.
The Melia Torremolinos is great. Right across the street from the beach with views from every room, ( I think ). Very nice with good location to walking promenade, small restaurants, sand, sea, etc. Staff was very gracious to keep extra luggage for us for a week. We did not have the buffets, but they looked good.

Hotel reception

Posted Apr 27, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: not applicable
Location: i vist the area regularly and this trip was to just stay local and enjoy the beach & local eating venue's
The 2 colleagues who dealt with my 'check in' were both helpful & friendly. I explained that my travelling companion could not join me due to family illness in the UK.. They dealt with my checkin with compassion & efficiencey. I have stayed in the hotel on a number of ocassions and the high standard I have come to expect has been maintained. Many thanks to the hotel team for making it a pleasureable experience and i look forward to my next visit
