Spanish Area

Posted Jul 6, 2008
This hotel was good, however it was right on top of a hill and was not nice to walk up in the heat. The hotel staff were really good...however i would advise that you learn a bit of spanish before ou go as this is a area where the spansih would holiday. There is not alot of resturants there, but i would suggest getting fish dishes out there.

I might go back

Posted Jul 2, 2008
I had a good experience at the hotel, rooms were cleaned daily, staff were friendly, but as out tv cable wasnt working...it never actually got fixed. we were telling the reception for 4 days on a roll but without any succes. And also there wasnt an ICE in the hotel for 3 days with outside temperature of 38 degrees so i had to go and buy some from a local supermarket. but in general...i am satisfied and i wouldnt mind going back next year.

A pleasant surprise

Posted Jun 26, 2008 on Hotels.com
It was a last minute decision & we booked for 3 nights. The hotel was so cheap we weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. Convenient location. Altho abit dated the hotel was very clean & comfortable. We didn't use the pool but it looked very inviting. Different choice of food each morning at breakfast. Only problem was the air conditioning that we couldn't get 2 work properly. We would definately go back-a bargain!

Decent Budget Hotel

Posted Jun 25, 2008
Stayed here at a budget rate so expectations weren't high. Overall the place was clean and the reception staff were friendly, and the bar staff were OK. It could do with soem updating and painting but everything functions fine. The hotel is sited up a fairly steep hill from the promenade and access is via a set of steps to the front door so that anybody with mobility difficulties may have problems. Finally, the food. Only steyed B and B so can only comment on breakfast. This was at the lpwer end of what you get in a Spanish hotel. I don't know why they try to produce cooked foodn when they're plainly not capaable of grilling bacon or frying eggs properly. Enough of it was edible for the purpose but it would have been better to supplement the cold meats and cheese with fresh tomatoes and maybe tortilla.

Worst place I've ever stayed at

Posted Jun 24, 2008
I must say I had a very nice holiday for a very little price. The city it self is beutiful and if you are looking to relax your self - this is it. Hotel I stayed at was ok - for the price couldn't expect anything better. However the staff - especialy mangers were awful. Word "hospitality" must be totaly strange for them. Anything you ask to do extra is a big problem for them and they are not hiding it. Let me just give an example: I went down to reception one day (as that was the only person speaking english) to ask for an ice bucket to chill my drinks a bit. She told me to go to petro station to get some ice.:) Funny enough I asked once again if they don't have an ice machine. Lady asked if drinks I want to chill I bought from them, when I said NO she told me: then we don't have ice. Excellet! Don't go there. They can't even greet you when you come for a breakfast...

good value for money and the most spectacular views!

Posted Jun 21, 2008
Hotel was better than we expected, it isnt the main tourist part so it was lovely. Was very close to the beach and we had the most amazing view of the sea. Clean rooms, a little run down. Staff do their best but dont speak the best english. Bus stop close and ten minutes to centre of town. Overall, had a great time there.

More Like A Hostel Then A Hotel

Posted Jun 6, 2008 on Hotels.com
The pool was dirty and no one jumped in due to the amount of bug in it. The room had an air con that didn't work and repair never took place. The condition of the Hotel is more Hostel standards, my partner got stomach bug after eating the food there. Not great for family but woulld be good for backpacker or budget youths.

It's all in what you're expecting...

If you're the type who wants to spend a lot of time in your room and be really comfortable...this hotel is probably not your cup of tea. But if you're looking for a cheap place to keep your stuff and get some sleep at night, this hotel is amazing! For the price we paid, (special deal) it was shocking. Pretty good buffet breakfast in the morning, our own balcony, air conditioner, 3 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from a big supermarket with cheap food, and a pool as well...quite a deal. The town is amazing, we were there in late May and were practically the only ones on the beach despite the good weather! There's a great walking path which goes all the way to Malaga and is great in the evenings. Loved it. Bus 160 from Malaga (either Alameda transfer or Muelle Heredia stop, bus 19 from the airport also stops at Alameda Transfer) only costs 1Euro, takes about 25 minutes and stops just a few blocks from the hotel and runs about every 20 minutes.

Quietly acceptable.

Posted Jun 2, 2008
I kept thinking of the movie "The Shining". But this was only because the Hotel was very sparsely occupied. Jack Nicholson wasn't there. If you are reading this and you onyl speak English, I would consider a phrase book. The hotel staff and almost everybody else in Rincon do not speak it at all, so it's necessary to have a few useful phrases to hand. Because it was quiet, no pool bar or entertainments (though the provision definitely exists) but the pool area was fine at this time of year, but possibly too small for peak time. Our room was cleaned and tidied perfectly each day and our sea view and view of the town (which I believe most rooms offer) were terrific. The food was only ok, and in fact, I found much of the breakfast a little disappointing. One other factor, the climb! walking back up to the Hotel from the main road is not for those who aren't keen on physical exercise. Particularly following a fajita or two washed down with a few litres of booze. Generally, if you are after a quiet, fussless break, this is acceptable. I could understand however, especially in peak time and alone in your English speaking world, how some people may find this disappointing.
