Great place to explore from, but need a car.Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The coffee / snack bar is clean however, it was odd that nothing could be charged to your room, not good if wet from the pool. Staff lovely.
Cons: It gives you what you want, but an accurate description of the location and access would be of benefit.
Location: As stated earlier the address is Estapona, but it most definitely IS NOT! Good choice of restaurants local and easy access to supermarkets.
The Diana Hotel has an Estepona address but that's like saying Luton is in London. The cost of a taxi to Estepona Centre or the port there is between 18 and 25 Euros so this mounts up, public transport (bus) is cheap though. Access to the sea is difficult, across the Spanish motorway equivalent. Having said all this the hotel itself is an oasis. It is clean and comfortable with a good sized, clean pool. It is a great place to use as a base if you want to explore the West side of the Costa del Sol. There are a number of cheap restaurants nearby and the hotel restaurant serves reasonable fare. Breakfast is okay with a choice of hot, continental or a combo with toast and cereal, all on a buffet basis. Staff at the hotel are responsive and polite. My room was spotless and was clearly recently refurbished with a 'Porcelanosa' bathroom suite. It had a view over the pool with a nice balcony and was on the first floor. It is probably due to the fact that I was there during school term time that the pool was under occupied and there were plenty of sunbeds always available. This gave the place a nice quiet atmosphere. For those interested in the TV programmes, the only English speaking Channels were News Channels but there was free wi-fi throughout the hotel and the code for this was provided at check-in.

Basic but clean and friendly staffPosted Jun 15, 2014
Friendly and helpful staff. Room and dining facilities basic but clean. Breakfast uninteresting but in keeping with price paid. In all we really could not complain.

Ideal for my purposePosted Oct 11, 2013 on Hotels.com
Attending a wedding in the locality, this hotel suited my needs perfectly. The pool area was large, clean and tidy, the breakfast ample and the reception staff very helpful and friendly, providing advice and drawing maps for my planned visit to Granada. My only gripe would be the comfort of the bed but as rooms in the hotel are being revamped I am sure that this will be addressed shortly. I caught a bus to Estepona from Madrid and had half an hour of confusion when I discovered that the hotel was not actually close to Estepona town - but that was my own error not that of the hotel

Very good value for moneyPosted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: The friendliness of the staff
Cons: The bed wasn't the most comfortable ever, but the modernisation programme just starting will rectify that.
Location: Located very close by Marbella and the associated attractions
Clean and presentable, the hotel was excellent value for money. A good choice of food, a very nice swimming pool and a modernisation programme which will clearly raise the standards even higher. Would recommend.

Conveniently off A-7Posted Sep 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel is right off the west bound lanes of the A-7. The staff was friendly and knowledgable of things to do in the area. The staff could speak Englishbut of course, you received more info in Spanish. The dated room was clean and in good condition. The pool was clean and inviting, but quite cool.
Renovations underway (Aug. 2013)Posted Sep 2, 2013
The photos online are projections of how the hotel will look AFTER the renovations that are currently underway. The actual rooms are dated and worn. The staff were nice, the kids loved the large swimming pool and the grounds were well maintained. The breakfast buffet was a great way to start the day--an added value for sure. This is a basic, roadside hotel with some perks. It will certainly be a good rest stop once the renovations have been completed. As it stands, the rooms are not very nice.

v areaery run downPosted Mar 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were very disappointed in the facilities of the hotel and its surrounding were very shabby and dirty. Also the hotel was like a building site and dust and dirt everywhere. We were on the second floor and there were no lifts or a slope to take our cases up. I think when booking this hotel we should have been told that building was going on. We left a day early as we had enough. We also could not make why there was only one chair in the room and the air conditioning was very ancient.

Pros: Happy staff
Cons: refurbishments - could not be helped it has to be done. New owners making improvements.
