Nice room but hotel rather bland and expensivePosted Apr 21, 2013
Cons: Prices for breakfast
Location: OK - 5 mins walk to edge of town with selection of bars
We stayed here for a one night stop over and it was fine - very nice room. However this is more like a large chain hotel aimed at the business and conference market than an interesting parador. The hotel is large and does have nice looking pool in nice grounds with lots of tables/chairs for sitting out. Note - the prices for food are outrageous, we did not eat there but strolled 5 minutes into town for evening meal and breakfast. The room and bathroom were great but the air conditioning was rubbish and did not cool the room (even after help from the staff)

So stylishPosted Oct 28, 2012
Pros: The decor, cleanliness. The breakfast was also really nice and good value for the type and selection.
Cons: Weather we had nothing about the hotel
Location: We eat in a small restaurant, locals. the best Called Castilla carta de comidas. It had a bar and a small hotel itself.
It was absolutely wonderful. the decor and ambiance was great.

Anniversary in AntequeraPosted Jul 31, 2012
Pros: Modern Look/Customer Service
Cons: Two twin beds smushed together.
Location: Lobo Park and El Torcal are a MUST, we really enjoyed them and you will to! (El Torcal trails are a bit of a hike, wear the right shoes!)
We enjoyed a great two nights at the Parador de Antequera and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. Immediately upon arrival the clerk (in perfect English, which is never expected but always convenient) proceeded to give us detailed tourism advice, multiple maps and overall excellent customer service. The room was spacious and clean with modern decor and a view of the pool and mountain range in the distance. We walked to dinner our first night, conveniently only ten or fifteen minutes away (there are multiple dinig options within a five minute walk as well). Breakfast was good, with eggs, toast, meats, a good selection of cheeses, bread, fruit and yogurt. The dining area has floor to cieling windows that overlook the mountiains in the distance, very beautiful. We also dined at the hotel that night, and were pleased with our dinner (cod and pasta). The only (minimal) complaint we had was that we've had of nearly every hotel in Spain...the "double bed" actually consisted of two single beds pushed together, neither of which was outfutted with a very comfortable mattress. However, this is to be expected in most European hotels, so we knew what we were getting into. Beside that, the mini bar was well stocked, there were plenty of satellite channels to choose from, the hotel was quiet and clean, and we enjoyed a couple hours basking poolside. If you're looking for a nice stay in Antequera, the Parador is your best option.

Service particularly in the restaurant was very poor, and the food very uninspiring. Would definitely not eat there again. I was disappointed. Only one gentlemen who worked at the hotel smiled.
Absolutely RelaxingPosted May 28, 2012 on Hotels.com
Even though we stayed here for just one night, which we are now regretting for not staying longer. We found the place extremely relaxing and quite. A great place to forget about work and read a book. Would really consider going back again. We have already recommended this place to friends and family.

Antequera Parador - modern style and comfortPosted Nov 24, 2011 on Hotels.com
This was a very convenient stopover on our way from Granada to Malaga. It was a cold, wet day and we were grateful to have a large, quiet space to read and relax. The only negative was that the heating in the bedroom didn't come on until morning so the room was cold during the afternoon and evening. We asked the friendly receptionist but she was unable to switch it on even though it was the second half of November on a cold, wet day.

have funPosted Jul 26, 2011 on Hotels.com
lovely hotel, nicely laid out. we only had breakfast on one day which is a bit pricey but delicious. plenty to choose from. Toiletries to die for, beautiful smelling, worth a trip just for that. the only downside was they changed the towels daily even though we followed instructions if not wanting them changed. How petty is that!! Thoroughly recommend. Plenty of nice places to eat within short distance. Beautiful surrounding countryside.
