good choice to stay and dive in MalapascuaPosted Sep 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
It's a good place to stay for an isolated island in the Philippines. It has most of the facilities you need like a good restaurant with tasty breakfast and other meals, dive center, bar, seating areas....etc. However there is no TV, the prices at the dive center are exaggerated and the water pressure in the toilet is weak.

Prime ocean frontPosted Aug 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great place to stay while diving for thresher sharks with a quality dive shop on site. Very comfortable banana lounges and chairs right on the beach for guests only - appeared to be the only resort on Bounty Beach to have these. Excellent breakfasts and meals at resort dining area. Friendly and helpful Filipino staff.

Slow service, run down roomsPosted Aug 28, 2013 on Hotels.com
The resort is in need of refurbishment and better service standards from front desk. Don't expect assistance in providing tour/information support. Nothing much to shout about.

Wonderful IslandPosted Aug 15, 2013 on Hotels.com
Beautiful island - still fairly unspoiled. Friendly locals, GREAT diving, lovely walks through the local villages. Hotel is basic but clean and staff are friendly. Would go back again.

Low management EQ.Posted Jul 9, 2013
Pros: Bean bags on the beach.
Cons: Management's EQ.
Location: Possibly the best beach front.
Liaising with the resort's owner, Sven, via email in regards to reservations and other queries was NOT a pleasing experience as most of my questions went unanswered. A rather unprofessional and bad impression for the #1 'resort' on Malapascua. I expressed my dissatisfaction in my immediate reply to him and did not receive any apology. But he did finally acknowledge my other queries, in a dry manner which at times, even seem to come across as sarcasm. I've received comprehensive and prompt replies from the other dive centres on the same queries and have therefore arranged my Cebu-Malapascua-Cebu transfers, Advanced Open Water course, plus a couple of fun dives with them instead. That said, the wonderful staffs (locals) and their warm hospitality did make up for it (with the exception of the Danish manager which only welcomed me and my wife once upon our arrival and never spoke or even smiled to us again throughout our stay). Only spoke to Sven in person upon check-out. He seemed nicer in person. Hope his customer service via email improves, otherwise he ought to leave the reservations to his staff. And I don't see a point in hiring that Danish guy who just stands around and not greet his guests. To cut the long story short = Hotel is fine. Local staffs are fine. Management's EQ is not.

Great resort, wonderful staff and fantastic divingPosted Jun 22, 2013
The resort is the best in the island. The resort staff is very friendly and accomodating. The dive guides with Sea Explorers were the best. They were entertaining and very knowledgeble about the dive sites. I highly recommend this resort.

A PLACE FOR R&RPosted Feb 19, 2013
Pros: The happy hour!
Cons: a bit pricey food
I stayed there for 3days and 2 nights with my fiancé from the US. it is a very long trip from the city, approx 4 hours bus ride plus 30 mins boat ride.. we were so tired when we reached the hotel but it is worth it. Sorren, the new manager is so friendly and accommodating. we had our welcome drinks right away. The hotel is very clean, the staff are equally accommodating and friendly. Special mention to mimi/louie. we so love the happy hour and the mango daiquiri. The quietness of the place can really help you relax and be with nature. The only comment is the menu. they have pretty good food but kinda pricey and mostly caters to foreigners and europeans, so you have to try out other restos or eateries around the area. overall it is a good place for r&r! :)

Excellent place for a relaxPosted Jan 7, 2013
Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, but clean, smart and modern
Location: A bit of a trek to get to the island but an excellent place to contrast with the main Cebu mainland
Very nice clean and spacious rooms. Lovely look out to the beach. I would recommend being upstairs where we were as it can be a bit crowded on the ground floor with passers by. All the services were great. Had a slight problem with the shower fitting on the wall. The restaurant on the beach was lovely but service is very slow. An hour after our food order was made we were told there was no chicken so had to re-order. (Service was also very slow at the other restaurant we visited - perhaps a feature of the island?. Good breakfast, again with great setting overlooking the beach. Very easy to arrange snorkelling etc as English speaking staff are around next door as it is a diving centre too. Sorry to only stay for two nights as it is a good place to relax. Also Had a massage in the room while there, again very easy to arrange. If your not into diving there is not much else to do on the island except relax!
