"Great activities AND relaxing stay in Maldives!"
If you're looking to do some fun-filled activities AND relax by the water then this Resort is right for you. It was our FIRST TIME in Maldives (my husband and I), and we were looking for a resort that combined those two things We just returned from our 4 night stay in Kurumba. I must stay we are very pleased with our choice of Resort. I don't have another Resort to compare to, however from our recent experience, we truly enjoyed our time in Kurumba. The staff at the Water Sports Center in Kurumba were extremely friendly. We went jet skiing (aka water scooter) at 4:15pm and we were able to see the Dolphins!!There are only two jet skis, my husband and I were on one and the water sports employee (Ayesh) was on the other. That was their policy, we weren't able to have our own, but that's ok. You were in the middle of the ocean, and there are so many islands around, you probably wouldn't be able to get back to your resort alone anyway. Plus Ayesh showed us the way to see the dolphins. I highly recommend you take a jet ski (if you're able to) to see the dolphins, if you want to see them up close. The food was great! The restaurants were good, we liked a couple more than others (Japanese and Italian are our top two favs). We just wished they had more hours(open at 7pm) You are pretty close to your villa neighbors while on the beach, if you don't have a private pool, you'll be in close proximity to others, just fyi. The beach chairs need to be farther apart, if possible.

"Paradise at a price"
Overall, Paradise is a great resort to stay. It has a great beach and some breath-taking experiences. A small thing - there is a swing outside each beach bungalow and our family had a great fun on it :). Having said that, I feel its a still bit over-priced. I guess that's true for most of the places in Maldives. Here are some of the experiences that I would term as not-so-good: 1) First and foremost - "FOOD": It just sucks. They need to cook better! 2) Warmth of the staff - This was good in places but overall I found the staff to be very curt, not so responsive and non-pleasing. 3) Some facilities like kids park needs to be maintained better and upgraded.

"Basic hotel close to beach"
Ukulhas Inn is a standard hotel on a local island. The rooms are simple but spacious and the breakfast is delicious (try the local options). The staff are helpful in arranging trips and the ferry ride over to the island. If you want a budget trip, it's a good option. It's a very quiet island but the beach is nice and you can wear a bikini and swim. They can arrange a variety of activities and a dive shop will open on the island soon. At the moment, diving is possible but expensive as it's run from the neighbouring island. Restaurants on the island are limited, so lunches and dinners are pretty basic.

"Best property you will ever be in"
Best property on earth, it is peace of heaven in there. Staff were the most professional and friendlier especially , Ziad, Abdullah, Nadeem , Waheed & Khalil, these are the names that I can recall now, most of the staff has been there for minimum of 7 years , so you can imagine how professional they are. We had an amazing time in there, relaxing environment, lovely weather and sea, and don’t forget the lemon ginger ice tea yummy yummy... I would really recommend this property to whoever is looking for the best experience of their life. Thank you so much Banyan Tree vabbinfaru management & staff for the great hospitality and professionalism of doing the work beyond what is expected, way to go and keep it up Regards, Alaa

It was a paradise for us, from the arrival to departure, we didn't wanted to go back home. The staff and management is brilliant. We can say this because we work in hotel industry as well.

"Sharks Beneath our Bedroom!"
I never believe people who say that holiday destinations are 'paradise', but Cocoa Island is as close as it gets. It's expensive, thats a fact, but frankly, worth every penny. The food is superb, the decor and facilities first rate. We came here principally to dive and the resort dive shop is, in my fifteen years experience, quite simply the best. The fifteen meter boat, with crew of three plus dive instructors was as often as not host only to myself and at most during our two weeks, to three other divers. The dive sites are amongst the best I've ever seen, with the greatest drift dive ever in 'Cocoa Thila'.The resort is built on the Island itself but the rooms are located on stilts above the ocean, and we really did have baby black tip sharks swimming under our bedroom, and around our ankles at times! Turtles, Manta, Sting Rays, Eagle Rays, White, Black tip and Grey reef sharks abound. The resort houses about eighty people but we felt we were almost alone there, and there's no fighting for space or sun beds. We hardly saw anyone during the day. There's no 'night life' as such, but who needs it when the days are so long and beautiful. We skipped lunch most days, too hot, and the complimentary fruit bowl more than sufficed! Wine with dinner went from pricey to ridiculous and breakfast being the only meal included in the 'rate' one is a bit hostage to their only being one restaurant but as I said before it is exceptionally good.

"airport transfer - 1 night"
After an initial poor experience with the transfer from the airport, having to wait 45 mins for a journey of no more than 5 mins, the hotel exceeded our limited expectations ( having previously stayed in a transit hotel just around the corner). The staff were very willing to help, and even put on a breakfast for us way before their official time. Our beach view room was compact, but clean and tidy. The view was excellent- and even included a pod of dolphins swimming past and jumping out of the water!

"Best hotel in Maafushi"
For people who usually stay in 2 to 3 star hotels, Kaani Beach Hotel on Maafushi is for you. It gives you the opportunity to visit different resorts every day. Staff at reception will organise that for you on daily basis. Kaani Beach Hotel uses its own speed boats at a reasonable cost. You are then required to pay an entry fee at the resort to use their facilities and it usually includes lunch. In this order, I recommend 1. Kandooma Holiday Inn, 2. Rihiveli Resort and 3. Fahilhohi Resort. By doing as I have suggested so far, as a tourist, you get it good from both worlds. Firstly, you stay on a village island at a reasonable cost for accommodation and during the day, you can enjoy a resort style facilities and only pay an entry fee which vary from place to place. For breakfast and dinner, Kaani Beach Hotel provides good local meals at a cheap price.
