not a holiday hotelPosted Jan 4, 2008
Not a hotel for a holiday - ok for travelling through, bit dated, limited facilities, convenient to the airport, ok, but nothing like the resort islands

Useful stopoverPosted Jul 27, 2007
I can't think why anyone would want to spend time in Male other than a stopover to wait for connections. If that's the case then this hotel is ideal as it's right opposite the ferry port. Try to avoid though paying the $11 transfer charges via websites and see if you can contact the hotel and book room only. You can get the same ferry yourself for $1 and it's very simple

all things considered...Posted Apr 2, 2007
Minor nits - small dead cockroach in the bathroom and I wish the a/c in the room had been turned on before we arrived, but other than that, it was certainly better than paying many hundreds for another night at an island resort. By US standards, over-priced and under quality, but considering the market and circumstances, it was "ok". We were required (by Expedia) to pay for dhoni transfer. Locals appear to pay less than one tenth as much for the same boat ride. I suppose the difference paid for the person who guided us to the boat and provided information about the time of our return transfer and who coordinated with the representative of the island resort where we were spending most of our stay.
