Really Nice HotelPosted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: Location & staff
Location: As above
The best thing about the UR Palacio Avenida is definitely the location - the bus stop for the airport bus is literally a stone's throw from the hotel. The hotel itself is directly across from the Placa Espana and a very easy stroll to all the major sites including the Placa Mayor, the Cathedral and the harbour as well as shopping at El Cortes Ingles or on Jaume III. There are lots of interesting streets and squares within easy walking distance and lots of lovely bars, restaurants and cafes very near by. The staff at the hotel were lovely too - they were always very happy to help with queries we had about what to do and where to go and recommended lots of nice places. The rooms are moderns, spacious and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel

Stylish but tired.Posted Aug 6, 2013
Pros: Great breakfast and nice staff.
Cons: Tired rooms - expected better for the money
Location: Situated in a good central place with great restaurants and shops around it.
Hotel is very stylish and in a good position for the city. Next to the underground and many bus routes pass outside the door. Walking distance to shops but bus or taxi to harbour or beach. First surprise was the air con was set to go down to 23C and it was 37C outside which meant we had to get someone up to the room to sort, he then had to go and change the main computer to get it lower! Our room was showing signs of wear with the shower fitting falling off the wall and a broken bath tap. We found out about the shower when we went to use it and it sprayed water all over the bathroom. This shorted the electrics and a lady came and tried to re-set them, it was the mirror causing the problem and she tried to dry it with the hair dryer! We insisted on changing rooms so thus time we were put on the front of he hotel, the mirror light never worked in that room and we had to go through the same action of getting the aircon turned down. The room again was looking tired but it was fine until the aircon started circulating the air from over smoking rooms so it smelt and felt like someone was smoking in our room. We didn't bother to say anything as we did not want to move again. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and good selection of food to order although not everything is available every day. Staff were very attentive although I think their English is a bit limited. Nice stylish hotel, but could probably do with some maintenance investment. Ideal for short city break though.

will go back againPosted Jul 11, 2013
Pros: Friendly and helpful reception and staffs.
Location: grate location near all restaurants and bars and 10 minutes walk to the beach.
very friendly and helpful staff. easy access to the hotel from the airport and from hotel to the airport, just catch bus number one, the bus stop is right in front of the hotel just 2 Euro and half per person. it is 10 minutes walk to the beach, there are many restaurants and bars cross the road, and around the hotel. the staff will help you to book a sightseeing tour if you want(I recommend this to all of you because you must take a tour trip and see the rest of the island, there are different tours with reasonable prices), just ask the reception then they will do the rest. it is near to super markets and coffee shops. in general this was our first visit to "Palma De Mallorca" and I must say it was a very good experience, in fact we loved it. the people of Palma were very polite and friendly no one has tried to over charge us at all.

Excellent hotel in great location. Only slight niggle could have done with a kettle for that early morning cup of tea
