Great location, average room.Posted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Breakfast buffet
Cons: Temperature control and quality of mattress
Location: Shopping, restaurants, and bars.
My husband and I stayed for two nights during July, we had booked a Queen economy room that included internet and breakfast buffet. Overall the hotel is in a great location and easy to find. It is also pretty old and it shows in various areas. Our room was small but with enough space for the two of us, the bathroom was clean and the internet connection was ok. To get to the room you could either take the grand winding stairs or wait for the elevator, the corridor was a bit musty and carpeted, which made it difficult to roll our suitcases. Although our room faced another building, it was really bright, it was also extremely warm. For the life of us we couldn't find a way to regulate the temperature. This and a super soft bed, made for two seriously uncomfortable sleeps. The breakfast buffet was delicious and offered a lot of great fresh food. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable. The nearby area was great for walking, eating, and drinking. Although there was a small parking area in front of the hotel, we were offered a parking permit in a garage for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who enjoys shopping and eating outdoors. If you are traveling in the summer, bring light pjs!

Good hotel, great location, awesome breakfastPosted May 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
We chose to stay at Rica based on the location and the appetizing pictures of the hotel breakfast. Both stood up to expectations. The hotel is within 5 minutes walk from the train station (which takes you to Copenhagen Airport in 30 minutes). It is also within walking distance from a huge assortment of stores, restaurants and bars. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean but quite old, but that was not a problem for us. Very rich, plentiful and tasty Scandinavian breakfast got our day started right. Would definitely stay here again.

Small roomPosted May 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
All very good. Nice staff and all that. BUT, this was the smallest room I've ever seen. Honestly, any smaller and it would've been non existent. Ok, to sleep in but absolutely nothing more.

Lilla TorgPosted May 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is right on the edge of Lilla Torg where life abounds all day and into the night. If you are staying in the Rica then you may want a room where you do not hear the late night calls of the party animals at 3:00a.m.(I sleep with the windows open). I suppose with the well insulated windows closed I probably would have heard nothing. My room was situated in the back of the hotel on a delivery access road leading into the Torg. The rooms were adequate and the staff was very helpful and nice. The breakfast was a standard breakfast that you receive in most hotels in Sweden with the cold cuts, sliced fruit, yogurts, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and more. You will not starve there. I would stay there again but hopefully not with my 12 year old daughter so i can go out and indulge a little with the nightlife as well. All in all good stuff

Four day stay in April 2014Posted Apr 23, 2014
Pros: Location, breakfast buffet, comfortable clean rooms.
Cons: Can't expect more at this price point and can't expect better ant any price point.
Location: Right on stor torg next door to lille torget - two blocks from just about everything else.
The location can't be beat, nor can the breakfast buffet. The staff is both friendly and helpful. If the weather is good ask to use one of the hotel bicycles - no charge - a great way to see the city. Rooms were small but well equipt and very clean - comforable beds.

Budget room for 1Posted Apr 22, 2014 on Hotels.com
I can't find anything to complain about. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast buffet had everything I would want to eat in the morning. Malmo is a walking town, so start at the square and work your way around. The hotel will give you a map or Malmo guide if you ask. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to friends. I will be back to visit again.

Nice hotel in city centrePosted Mar 23, 2014
Hotel is in a lovely historic looking building. Breakfast is great. Staff are very friendly and helpful. It was clean and quiet everywhere. Only aspect to criticise - there was no wardrobe or chest of drawers in the room, and no table. It's ok for a very short stay, but if you stay for a week or more, it's a bit inconvenient.

Nice hotel on the squarePosted Feb 3, 2014
Lovely hotel and room with a great location in Malmo. Included breakfast was excellent. Front side of hotel was slightly loud at night but I was offered a room on the square or a room on the quieter side of the property. Great value.
