Greeted with a SMILEPosted Jul 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
My 17 year old daughter and I stayed at THE CALYPSO HOTEL for 6 nights. We were greeted by a very nice receptionist whose "nickname" is" Keegan" He was extremely helpful throughout our visit to the beautiful Island of Gozo. Marlsiforn is an awesome area for all ages. Our room was very comfortable with a seaview overlooking the Boat Harbor. Heavenly!!! The daily breakfast was perfect as was the staff. Really nice people. Joe the waiter was so kind. I can only say great things about this Hotel and as a New Yorker and a traveler around the world I would most certainly return to Gozo and stay at Calypso Hotel. Only next time our stay would be for the entire summer!!!!

Fantastic option for Marsalforn hotelPosted Jul 14, 2013
We visited in July of 2013 and had a fantastic time! The hotel was spotlessly clean and well-equipped. We paid extra for the sea view, and definitely recommend doing that--the bay view rooms mostly face a building and the normal rooms are across an alley from other apartments. Our room had a fridge but no tea making facilities, and full aircon (which worked well even on days hotter than 30C). We elected for half board. Breakfast was a large buffet with hot and cold options. For just 2 euros extra breakfast could be delivered to your room at a specified time, complete with everything you could possibly eat (we saved leftovers for lunch). Dinner was the choice of 3 options each for appetizer, main, and dessert, and we didn't see the same item twice in a week (except the vegetarian options, which were much less varied). The staff were wonderfully helpful, and the wine list was decent. Overall we would heartily recommend the Calypso Hotel to anyone. If you're staying in Marsalforn it's really the only option for a nice hotel, and fortunately it's a good one.

Good hotel makes for a lovely holidayPosted Jun 27, 2013
We stayed for a week, the hotel. We stayed in a standard room, which overlooked a side road with a small balcony (though no furniture). The room was comfortable and a good size. The staff were friendly and helpful, for example they helped us hire and car and call a taxi. The location was excellent, it is on the sea front and near the beach. There were lots of restaurants around and near a bus stop so can easily explore Gozo. There was a pool on the roof, a little on the small side, but the area around was perfect for relaxing and lovely views of Marlsalform.

Difficult to fault this hotelPosted Mar 2, 2013
Pros: Good sized, very clean room with charming helpful staff.
Cons: No free safety deposit box.
Location: Beside Marsalforn Harbour.
A sea view room on the 4th floor (418). A good size and very clean. Excellent breakfast with a very wide choice. Bed was hard but on informing reception a much softer mattress was provided. The staff could not have been nicer. We did not eat lunch or dinner in the hotel so cannot comment on the restaurant. It would have been nice if the safe deposit box was free (as it is in many hotels). However, by and large this is a very nice hotel and we will certainly try and stay there again when we return to Marsalforn.

Calypso Hotel, MarsalfornPosted Feb 27, 2013
This hotel was graded 4 star, it is not. Probably 3, maybe less. It should be stressed that it is a resort hotel. The problem with resorts in winter is that everything closes, including the hotel bar and second restaurant, as well as most of the other restaurants in the vicinity (other than over Carnival weekend), which makes B & B difficult. We ate in the hotel restaurant once the food was abysmal. We'd rather bread & cheese in our room than brave it again. A disappointing booking. Looked better on your website than the reality.
