Flinstone bedPosted Apr 16, 2015

A Winter's talePosted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: It's clean and fresh approach. With the proximity to the sea, walk-ways and bus station ( very handy ) it still was very quiet.
Cons: I would have to look for something !
Location: A short walk to the sea & promenade; where there is an aquarium, plenty of shops & small bars and just 20 min walk to St. Paul's Shipwreck Church.
On arrival, you will immediately notice that the hotel stands out from the surrounding buildings. It has a very bright and fresh look about it. The entrance is through two sets of glass doors, to the left the reception in clear view, Set in very bright white & grey marble with plenty of comfy seats for those awaiting transfers etc. To the right of the entrance, a Moroccan style café. The reception clerks were a mixture of nationalities and could converse in English, Italian, Maltese, French and German - just to name a few, all polite and very efficient. My room was on the first floor, which is actually street level, the ground floor leading to the dinning room, spa and access to the outside pool areas. The room was kept at a very high standard of cleanliness and had very little sign of being used all year round. A double bed/twin, very large TV on local cable network ( no UK channels), I enjoyed a pool/sea view from which the breeze was most welcome. The dining room is huge, after taking a place everything is self service. A traditional buffet & continental breakfast ( pastries etc ) bowls of yoghurt & fresh fruit, while another area had several chefs preparing galley style 'Full English'. There is regular evening entertainment in a theatre/bar area, which appeared to be well attended. Whilst I was there(March)parts of the outside pool were being repaired and in the far wing rooms were being renovated or rebuilt - yet there was no impact on guests. Very pleasant stay.

good locationPosted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Beautifully finished and furnished. Good choice in restaurants. Kosy bar is lovely with very pleasant and efficient staff.Room was set up well.
Cons: Communication with guests
Location: Great location, fab restaraunt directly opposite the hotel, walking distance to bus depot in Qawra , great little car museum in Qawra .
Great location, walking distance from the hustle and bustle of Buggiba and Qawra. Hotel looks great , still a little unfinished as they were adding more floors and had refurbished the outside pool area. The staff on the whole are polite and friendly , we found the cleaners to be the friendliest. Malta as a country is not great about advertising events and the hotel followed true to form by not making it common knowlage that it's grand opening was taking place and there would be a firework display , which we would have watched if we would have known about it , we have had better entertainment at uk based caravan sites and found the constant need for praise by the animation team co ordinator rather boring , then again we weren't expect entertainment. There are holiday touts constantly working around and in the hotel , we saw a few vulnerable looking people being drawn in for the hard sell, this is not our idea of how a four star hotel works or any ethical establishment. The food is lovely though with plenty of choice and quantity and is of good quality.

Short break- 4 nights.Posted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: Everything very good. Relaxing.
Location: Just a short walk up the road is the vintage car museum, which was very interesting, lots to see. The bus terminus just 2 mins away.
Emailed before arrival for taxi to be sorted from airport to hotel, hotel response within 30 mins. Quick check in at hotel, also very helpful. If ordering 3 or more evening meals there was an offer that instead of 19 euro's per evening it was 15 euros, and totally worth it the food is fantastic- massive choice- you could have 5 courses if you wished and as much as you would like. The pool and spa very good.

first time in MaltaPosted Mar 8, 2015
Pros: room, breakfast, service, location, looks, pools all good
Cons: once all the building is done probably not a lot, and maybe keep them time share sellers out!
Location: Restaurants and shops nearby are good, bus park 100 yards to the left and you can go anywhere
Lovely hotel, even the taxi driver was impressed when we told him where to take us. Needed a doctor and got a visit in 20 minutes and the receptionist even apologised for getting him too quickly because I'd just gone to breakfast. Chamber maids were polite and helpful. Brekki was plentiful, and the pool area was nice a tidy, view from the balcony was great, but the hotel is still having building work done which at 7am was quite annoying, and the fridge in the room was noisy so turn it off when you go to bed and turn it on in the morning, advertised as soundproof rooms, they aren't, but only corridor noise not room to room noise. Over-all if we went back to Malta we'd probably use the hotel again

Very Nice HotelPosted Feb 4, 2015
Pros: Good free wifi and good complimentary breakfast with plenty of choices!
Cons: Hallway carpet may need change in some places, but not a big need.
Was there for a nearby conference and didn't regret it one minute! The lobby is large and spotlessly clean. The rooms are new (I stayed on the ninth floor) and I was upgraded for free with a sea view room. Bed was very comfortable. The price is ridiculously good for the accommodation you get. There are some nice restaurants in the area. The Chinese restaurant across the street is a great deal.

Db San Antonio Spa HotelPosted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Clean and spacious with gym and spa facilities, several pools although only indoor open in the Winter months. Several restaurants to give options..
Cons: I found the bed a little too hard but the room was nicely decorated and not cramped. The shower water didn't keep within bounds, the floor got wet.
Location: Nice location, not too much beach for bathing but lovely views from the headland. Malta's National Aquarium situated there which was worth going too.
Large spa hotel overlooking St. Pauls Bay with a short walk to the Buggiba bus Terminal.

Good hotel in excellent positionPosted Jan 13, 2015
Pros: The room was a very good size with everything I needed, and with enough room to relax. The staff were also helpful.
Cons: The restaurant was too much like a canteen so not inviting - I did not eat there but would have liked to.
Location: As this was winter there was not much to do, but there were plenty of restaurants/bars close by. I believe there would be a lot to do in high season.
I have visited this area several times, and this hotel was very centrally located. There were plenty of restaurants and bars close by, and it was very close to the sea and bus station for local transport.
