Close to the beach

Posted Feb 28, 2015
Hotel very well presented, lovely reception area. February and only the weather spoilt our short stay ! Would go back but only later in the year when more bars ect open, and better weather , after 11pm everything closed and this was possibly due to season and the bad weather ! Cheap bus fare for all day travel around the island was a bonus ! Overall a nice short break !

Perfect location and friendly staff

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: Location, St Paul's beautiful area!
Cons: Wi Fi
Location: Good restaurants around.
The Hotel is well located, only few minutes from bus terminal. St Paul is a very quiet area, but beautiful and we did not regret staying there. Staff were very friendly and helpful when we needed. Only wifi was not good specially in the room and over weekend when Hotel was really busy.

Christmas holiday in Malta, Dolmen Hotel

Posted Dec 28, 2014
Great rooms and breakfast. HAirdryer terrible (wall mounted). Gym not really usable and indoor swimming pool very small. But overall stay was amazing. There are a lot of day trips to go on. As local bus station is 2 mins walk away (2 euro for a day ticket!!)

Large hotel overlooking sea.

Posted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Its position and facilities
Cons: Upgrade of furnishing and interior decoration.
Location: The hotel overlooks the sea. There are many restaurants nearby. The bus terminus is a 5 minute walk, with routes to all parts of Malta..
We picked this hotel, for its position, number of stars and price and taking all these factors together we were not disappointed. An added benefit turned out to be the proximity of the bus terminus and we made full use of this with a 6.5 euro week's bus pass. The four stars relate more to the range of facilities than the quality of the establishment, which did lack a bit of gloss. However we found the staff friendly and helpful and for an out of season break at a very reasonable price, we had no reason not to feel satisfied.

Good Choice with a great view !

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Pros: SPA, Beach area, location!
Cons: Maybe a lick of paint here and there, hallways are dark and carpet looks a bit old.Downstairs main restaurant too. Did not like TAKWONDO event.
Location: Location great for traveling, exploring, peace and quiet, Aquarium near by, sea front, unlike loads of others who do not look as impressive as Dolmen.
I wanted somewhere nice and quiet with a view. That is exactly what I got. First night someone woke me up, but as soon as I told the staff at the reception they have sorted it out and there were no noise afterwards. Staff at SPA are extremley welcoming and lovely. The girls are fantastic, especially Tatjana and Victoria. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. I was glad I did not go all inclusive as managed to go out in the evening to eat at different place every time. Its only a short walk to the centar and the view was amazing. I would like to return again, already been recommending this place to all my family and friends.

Bra beliggnhet, god tilgang til sjøen

Stort hotel, noe industripreget. Hyggelige spisesteder utenfor hovedrestauranten.

Nice hotel with two great swimming pools

Posted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Location, layout, swimming pools, Delos cafe, Batubalan restaurant, size and quality of room and view from balcony - pretty much everything!
Cons: The lifts nearest reception were under pressure at peak times. Make a dedicated area for people to smoke by the pools. Carpets in corridor trip hazard
Location: Close by to wide range of eateries and shops. Bus station very close by to travel further afield. Easy to get across to beach and path around bay.
We feel we were very lucky with our choice of hotel and the location. We opted for a superior room and the view from the balcony certainly enhanced our stay. The room was really spacious and it was great to have a kettle in the room with tea, coffee and powdered milk provided - and even better a fridge to put fresh milk, juice and soft drinks. The two swimming pools were great and there was plenty of sun beds. The hotel even had its own temple in the grounds which makes a great feature. We stayed in bed and breakfast basis and there was plenty of cold and hot options to choose from and lovely fresh melons, croissants and cake to spoil yourself. The staff were always helpful and our room was always cleaned to a very high standard. The hotel's Delos cafe and Batubalan restaurant were both great places to eat at - only one complaint was the portions of the dishes particularly at the restaurant were too large and didn't allow you to finish them let alone consider a dessert. We will definitely be returning to th Dolmen hotel in the near future.
