Great Hotel well placed for local colour & foodPosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: It's overall buzz, style & comfort as well as it's location. jSize of rooms in general, lots of space everywhere.
Cons: Pool staff were missing/inattentive sometimes & some Umbrellas need replacing. Main restaurant carpet (only part carpeted) needs cleaning/replacing
Location: Near sea, shops, bars, cafe's, restaurants, beach, promenade, marina & harbour, local & tour buses, conference centre & Casino's - nothing else needed
Malta has had a huge cash injection from the EC in recent years & is busy tidying up National Treasures & tourist type areas such as promenades & parks. The hotel has been coming up top of Trip Advisor for some years now so I had expected it to be a bit tired but it wasn't. From the speedy check-in & early room availability with chilled welcome drink on arrival up to check out it was just what we'd needed & more than met our expectations. The Hotel is stylish, comfortable with huge rooms & the staff were delightful - all very friendly & attentive in a casual manner. We had access to a lovely Executive Lounge for Breakfast, tea or pre-dinner drinks but we chose the main breakfast buffet daily as it was just an amazing array - anything you couldn't see on display it was just a query away. The pool areas were lovely & beds plentiful. A few Umbrellas need replacing but it was the end of the season so I'm sure that will be addressed. The hotel is right in the busy St Juliens/Portomaso Marina area near Little Italy, St. Georges bay & beach, the Casino's, Bay St Shopping district & the marina itself which provides a nice stroll. There are numerous bars, cafe's & restaurants but don't overlook the hotel's own wonderful Thai - Blue Elephant. With a spa & Gym + indoor pool there is no real need to stray at all, but if you do even Valletta is only 30-45 mins walk & a ferry ride away. There are HOHO island tour buses which supplement busy local buses & loads of taxi's.

Hilton stay very goodPosted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: The Pools are lovely but freezing cold
Cons: Cost of drinks
Location: Location is good, the restaurants in Spinola Bay are excellent, we had may authentic meals during our stay,
This is our first visit to the Hilton in Malta, overall it was a very good hotel, very disapointed that the indoor pool was closed for refurb on our second day, this had been a big reason for booking this hotel and we would have expeced to have been told in advance if such a major facility was to be unavailble. The room 523 was good, air con excellent, we had beautiful weather 26-28deg every day, we stayed B&B and although the breakfast was good it was not exceptional cost of 19.95 euro each per day we will probably stay room only and eat out at a local restaurant for breakfast, cost of drinks expensive in the hotel but we would definately stay again if we could find a good deal

LuxuriousPosted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Ambience, peace (except on the wedding night but it was a very good band). Never felt crowded.
Cons: It would be good news if there was a porter outside to help bring in cases or at least someone to greet you and get some help.
Location: Palacio paradiso in Naxxar. Valetta cathedral
Lovely food, consciege extroardinarily helpful, garden and pools a joy. Just the job for a winddown.

Excellent 5 star experiencePosted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: The facilities were excellent. It was the customer servce of your staff that made it an exceptional stay.
Cons: I would have like more varied live music at night
Location: We enjoyed the bus tour and cruise around the bays.
We enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing holiday at the Hilton. The staff were so welcoming and looked after us, with a high degree of professionalism. The facilities are first class, from our bedroom to the dining and pool areas. The adult only pool was great, as the area was completely quiet. Young children were able to splash about and make as much noise as they wished in the family area. The food was good quality and varied. I especially enjoyed my breakfast eggs cooked to order.

Great hotel good locationPosted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Good evening entertainment attentive staff and great help with island knowledge concierge was brilliant
Cons: The lifts are rubbish and take ages to arrive its quicker to use the stairs
Location: Plenty of good restaurants within walking distance not much nite life unless you are sub 16 years of age when Paceville is the place to be.
A nice holiday, there is a lot to see and do on Malta but the island is let down by litter and graffiti which is strewn allover all of the streets as soon as you venture beyond the Hotel.

More between 3*&4* reallyPosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: The building inside (less my room) and the pools. Good views.
Cons: Proper 5* rooms
Location: The location was good.
The room was not very spacious and the furniture was a bit dated. To sum up, the staff tried to be pleasing but for the price we paid it was a bit disappointing. I have been in 5* hotels before and this wasn't one.
