Very convenient - few minutes walk into ValettaPosted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Good value for money.
Cons: The showers need to be upgraded, but we would not want walk-in showers - we like having a bath.
Location: Masses of interesting things to see & do. History, churches, the Malta Experience, the old capital Mdina, temples, catacombs, beaches.
Situated just outside Valetta, and close to bus terminus. Very easy to get to all the places of interest.

It was a very comfortable old style hotelPosted Nov 7, 2013
Pros: Great service , beautiful ,well maintained building. A grand hotel
Cons: the grounds were very large and probably expensive to maintain but they needed attention. It would really have enhanced the place
Location: The streets very nearby were beautiful -full of beautiful old buildings, churches, sea views, restaurants, shops.
Very solid traditional old style hotel with great service and facilities. There were extras like a pianist playing beautifully in the stunning lounge area. The hotel was in an excellent location. The room fit out was very good as well. Wifi good.

Charming and traditional hotelPosted Nov 1, 2013
Lovely hotel close to the seat of Malta's historic centre. Good amenities, attractive pool area and attentive staff. Although one of the older hotels we found the site convenient for walking into and around Valletta and all its wonderful history. The bus station was close by and excellent value for getting around the island. We chose to breakfast out at the local cafés in town and had excellent value for money and would recommend that option; it is nice to try as many different places as possible. We enjoyed watching the local tango dance class come in to the lounge bar on Sunday night for dancing and all over Valletta we heard the sound of music! from a solo bassoonist to a violin player and a wonderful musical water fountain in the main piazza by the state palace. Weather was perfect too!

Old world charm in a great locationPosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Its character, location and good service
From the outside the hotel looks a little bland but the interior is full of old world charm and character. Its location near the city gate and next to the bus station is great especially if you want to explore the island by bus which is cheap and efficient. The gardens and pool area are lovely and a great place to relax

Very high standard & convenient location.Posted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: Most everything, but eating in very expensive (so we went out to eat in Valletta itself)
Cons: Bed a little too soft for my back.
Location: Loads of restaurants within short walking distance. Valletta itself is full of history & old architecture - very clean (they're always cleaning up).
Excellent overall. Probably the best location for sightseeing, both in Valletta & in the rest of Malta via the adjacent main bus station. Brilliant gardens, but be prepared for a long walk to the hotel pool at the very end of the gardens. Remember to bargain with taxi drivers outside the hotel. Don't ask the concierge to get you one - it will cost at least 4 Euros more. The airport rate should be no more than 15 Euros currently - but you may have to haggle to get it!

Very pleasantPosted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: Elegance, good maintenance, taste, swimming pool, Club Bar, service.
Cons: Add instructions on the bedroom wall near the air conditioning unit to show what is to be done to make it function.
Location: It is wonderfully well located with just a short amble to the main street, and the bus station situated nearby. We used this station to get to Mdina.
Our room was of a good size and comfortable. There was a minibar for cool drinks and a bath/ shower combined. We had an attractive view over the city. Staff were competent and wanted to please us. The large foyer was elegant and had a grand aura; in the evenings, a pianist played soft music. The swimming pool was well maintained and situated within beautiful gardens. It had a poolside bar and inside the hotel, there was also a lovely Club Bar with a patio area facing the city, as well as a well appointed, atmospheric inside area. Drinks were a reasonable price especially as they included some luscious olives and also nuts. We particularly liked the young barman called Leon who looked after us very well. The whole hotel seemed well maintained. I think that they could do much more to publicise themselves, e.g. the Club Bar could surely attract far more people and so could the dining room.
