Quiet hotelPosted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The bath was nice. There was a balcony with new table and chairs. It was clean The tv had lots of channels and was flatscreen. The reception
Cons: The bed and pillows were rock hard. The plates at breakfast were the size of tiny saucers. The cooked breakfast was poor. Not much atmosphere
Location: Just a short walk to the bars and restaurants. Partial view of the sea. Not a pleasant outlook of hotel opposite being rebuilt.
The rate for the room was good value. The receptionist was helpful and our room was ready early. The hotel was peaceful in early October. The air conditioning in the bedroom was working well. The twin beds we were given were really very uncomfortable. My back was aching the next day.

Nice comfortable clean room. Get what you pay forPosted Jul 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Chose based on price. It was a nice comfortable, clean room. Not a 4 star hotel by any stretch of the imagination. I guess stars are easy to come by in Malta, but where can you get a single, with breakfast and a partially obstructed sea view for $64 USD a night on the weekend during the height of tourist season. Great value!!! Breakfast was good, nothing special. Street parking was not too hard to find. Would stay again.

Great value and excellent pricePosted Apr 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed for 4 nights - comfortable pool room with balcony - great view from the roof top patio. Friendly service at reception. Breakfast - two types of fruit each day, pressed meats/cheese, cereals, juice, capuccino/coffee/hot chocolate, breads, hots beans, eggs, hot Maltese sausage.....fantastic value.

Not impressed - you have what you pay....Posted Jun 9, 2010
Friendly staff and good location. Very close to the terminus bus where you can take a bus to go anywhere on the island. One hour by bus to Valletta and 30 to 40 minutes to St. Julian's Bay where you will find night clubs and pubs in a area called Paceville. The only inconvenient is that buses stop running at 9pm and then you will need a cab to get back to hotel (€20-€25 from St. Julian's Bay to Qawra). I recommend the day trip to Gozo and Comino, only €10. The day trip to Sicily is also interesting. There is a travel agent just around the corner and you can book day outs, cars, etc. Malta is beautiful and local people are very friendly. Good food and weather. We couldn't take the boat to Blue Grotto, the sea was really rough. So I guess we have to go back there :)

Could do better.Posted Jun 17, 2008
I have just returned from a 3 night stay at The Il Palazzin. Unfortunately, my luggage was taken by another traveller and even though the Hotel were notified of this by the airport they made no attempt to contact me, and offered no help in arranging for my case to be collected - which resulted in a round trip by taxi to the airport at a cost of 50 EUR. The room - whilst clean was uncomfortable, no views and VERY noisy (room 003) on the ground floor - next to reception. Breakfast whilst unimaginative was fresh and tasty - would get bored of it if you had to eat it for a week. Bus station very close - but beware - our bus got us to St Julian's Bay in record time on Friday night - about 10 mins !! There seemed to be an overall element of speed with the taxi and bus drivers.

Just Passing ThroughPosted May 31, 2008 on Hotels.com
We stopped here for a night before our apartment was ready, so in fairness it may have got better, but as they say first impressions count. On arrival, very grand looking hotel. On the back streets but not far at all from the action. The reception was grand and night porter very helpful and chatty. The lift was small, with numerous people about and suitcases it took a while. The corridors looked tired and the room equaly so. The furniture needs replacing and the beds were, errr. past it. Cleanliness was OK, bathroom needed a makeover. Room size was good and we overlooked the pool which was small but nice. Who knows when its packed if you could get in. The following day, breakfast now yes it is included but a choice of, a few cereals, bread rolls, sliced bread and ham and cheese. Watered down orange and something else juice with usual coffee and tea. Use a little imagination. All in all a pleasant place, with street parking which was a bonus. But in need of a make over. Reflect this with the price and you get what you pay for. Dont expect luxury here but for a night or two on a buget would be ok.

Too NoisyPosted Nov 11, 2007
The hotel walls and floors have no sound proofing. Every morning we were woken at 7am by the sound of scraping chairs over the floors throughout the building. By the end of the week we were exhausted and couldnt wait to get back to the UK for a sleep in!

Could do betterPosted Nov 5, 2007
The hotel was ok but it did not merit four stars. It's main advantage was its closeness to the bus station-we made good use of the brilliant bus service. Our room overlooked the bay which was nice but we were occasionally woken by noisy traffic. The continental breakfast was adequate but unimaginative and became a bit tedious by the end of the week. The staff were all friendly and helpfull and our room was always cleaned efficiently.Overall not a bad hotel but not one to get excited about.
