“Satisfied”
Le Meridien is well located in the heart of touristic area of Malta. Has some great fascilities such as swimming pool, wellness area, restaurants...The employers at the hotel were great. We had some troubles with internet connection and they fixed it imidiatelly. Later on, our safe box in the apartment was blocked and we needed something from it right away so they fixed this problem in 15 min and I was impressed how quick they are. Rooms are very clean and our junior suite was quite big for the two of us with great sea view. They are very serious when it comes to leaving important messages for guests (on tv, voice mail and even we found letter on the bad) so there is no way you can miss something, you can completely rely on them. I had a great time there and would recommend this hotel with all my heart!
Area recommendations
I would recommend visiting Valletta and Mdina for is historical value, St. Julians and Sliema for great source of fun and beaches on the other side of the island. When you staying only for a 6 days you must have idea what is "must see", otherwise you can get lost and tired running from side to side.
When to go
I think the best time for visiting Malta is early June as there is no too much travelers at the time and prices are lower.
Getting there
By plane or if you are already in Sicily you can take a ferry and in only hour and a half you are in Malta.
Getting around
Local transportation system is something very interesting in Malta! Buses are cheap and they can get you everywhere you like to go. Taxi is a bit of expensive. There are also many agencies with some great small trip offers. Touristic double bus is great way to see a big part of island in just a few hours.
What to pack
Shoes in which you can walk a lot, summer clothes and something for rare windy nights, just in case.
Dining
We ate at some great places all over the island! If you wanna get something for breakfast many caffe bars offers you wide range of sandwiches and snacks where you can also have a decent lunch, but you can eat at great and fancy restaurants and it is not expensive. I dont like Maltese national dishes, but you can find everything for your taste everywhere.
Family-friendly activities
Many trips around island and trip to Gozo and Comino, also to Sicily by ferry. Splash and fun water park is quite good. Diving .
Nightlife
Nightlife in Paceville is the best for sure. Also would like to recommend the club in the Tower ( one and only tower in St. Julians, the club is located on the 22nd floor) and Casino, also near tower.
