Hotel Milano Due

Posted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: The attached cafe did a very nice coffee
Cons: Everything
Location: On the front at Sliema, close to buses and ferries to Valetta. Plenty of bars and restaurants within very easy walking distance.
Terrible Hotel, much like Faulty Towers - in the dark and dingy room, the radio had wires hanging out of the bottom - didnt work needless to say; the front control of the TV had been ripped out - that didnt work either; the beds must be 50 years old, very uncomfortable and had to sleep on a pillow to stop the springs sticking into you; air conditionning was very poor, only on at certain times and even then made little difference; shower did work but nothing to attach it to the wall. No working plug in sink so you washed under a running tap and the noise from the pipes was endless .. including all night

My visit visit to Malta

Posted Sep 21, 2014
Pros: Nothing really
Cons: An awful lot, I had heard from the taxi driver that it was to be refurbished within the next 4 years - don't think they will still be in business then
Location: Location was good - plenty of things to do
Hotel wasn't a three star - British Travel Lodge much superior to this hotel. I thought I had booked a room with partial sea view and balcony got the partial see view but no balcony, so disappointed. TV in room was so ancient it was unbelievable and asked on several occasions for someone to look at it but still waiting. Shower cabinet doors did not close causing water all over floor. Mini bar that was requested didn't appear until the Sunday and even then had to have someone look at it because it was also so old. Café Bistro area was disgusting, towels on floor to catch drips from ceiling ventilation areas, accident waiting to happen someone could get hurt. All in all my stay at this hotel was not brilliant and I certainly would never go back there again even if you paid me to. We all work hard to be able to enjoy our holiday and it is a shame there are still places out there that claim to be 3 star, my small B&B was certainly far superior to this and I ran it myself.

Not worth it

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Cons: Cleanliness
Location: Location was pretty awful - not pleasant.
I booked this hotel for my son so he could catch an early flight back. He rated it as one of the worst places he has ever stayed - which is saying something for him. He was fairly sure the sheets on his bed hadn't been cleaned since the last person had been in it having found evidence of the previous occupant.

False advertising

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: Location and view.
Cons: Needs lots of improvement especially when an AC and TV are advertised that should be in working condition. WIFI is not free room too small,
Location: Location is great and there is lots to do in the area.
Location is great. The room was extremely small. Both the TV and AC did not work. View from the balcony was great and the linen, shower and towels were very clean. Staff was quite friendly.

good view of the harbour, which cost extra

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: fresh towels every day, room cleaned.
Cons: few staff had no interest, no wonder very few people used it. We went there the first morning and paid extra money for breakfast, never returned
Location: location fiune, not too far from shops, boat trips etc, bus stops nearby
Hotel was fine as a place to sleep. Room cleaned and fresh towels every day. Otherwise basic. Breakfast of bread and jam/cheese very basic and better breakfasts available nearby for less money.

Reasonably priced with everything we needed

Posted Aug 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
Reasonably priced, a very convenient location with helpful staff. If problems arise they are resolved quickly. It is conveniently located with bus stops etc nearby. You can find parking in the white bays near the hotel (we always use Stirling Motors, just down the road and always happy to quickly resolve any problems tel 0035621330925). We would never book the standard room as they have no external window, just a window that opens onto the internal shaft. The side sea view rooms are more spacious than the sea view rooms, which are relatively compact, but contain everything that you need. You can hire a mini fridge. The room is kept clean and they change towels every day. The water pressure is good, the temp can go up and down but the shower cubicle isn't very big. The lift only fits 4 people. It can be slow in the morning when cleaning staff use it. We ate in their downstairs restaurant one night and the food was pleasant and reasonably priced. We ate in Irrera on the Ta'Xbiex Seafront, 0035621340018. It is reasonably priced and the food is good. It is very popular with the locals at the weekend so it is best to book for a table by the waters edge. To the right of the hotel is the Lotus Crown, a mini supermarket with the gorgeous ice cream and cakes. If you are looking for UK standard 3 * plus, look elsewhere as this is definitely not it. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in convenient surroundings with pleasant and helpful staff, this is it.
