Friendly and accomodating staff!

Good value for the cost (amenities include a gym and a pool); located in a quaint neighborhood not far from the sea. I was particularly impressed with the bus system. I recommend the 1-week bus pass which you can buy at the airport. From the airport, take X3 - Buggiba and get off at the Ishmael stop. You can walk to the hotel from there.

awful

We enquired about late check out in writing prior to staying as we were only there for one night instead of going home after a wedding, on arrival they said to call down in the morning. There was no phone. The cleaners barged in rudely, obviously nobody had informed them we wanted late check out (we would have paid extra). At the reception we informed them.sleepily, about the situation and that there was no phone and she smiled and patronisingly said 'thank you hope you enjoyed your stay' no sorry or explanation. We paid extra for a double.room and got three single beds. We have never complained before but we're just thankful we only had to deal with the atrocious service for one night. Basically once they have your money they really do NOT care

Basic

Posted Apr 8, 2012
You basically get what you pay for. Low cost hotel, so don't expect anything other than the basics in your room. The toilet could cope with simple tasks, but struggled with more complex ones (if you get my drift!). Room had a two pin plug TV, and a three pin socket in the wall. So no use at all.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments. It is a pity you did not report the problem with the toilet flush and the plugs at reception as these would have been sorted out by our maintenance team. We hope to see you again at the San Pawl Hotel on your next visit to Malta Kind regards Carol Burgess General Manager

decent budget hotel in a convenient location. Rooms are basic . Nice pool area and a pretty good breakfast. Great for the price.

Needs Refurb

Posted Oct 21, 2008
We went to this hotel in October, you definately don't get more than you paid for. The rooms were clean, but in urgent need of refurbishment.the common areas were ok and the hotel has started improvements with a new Pizzeria on site. Entertainment was incredably loud and did not always finish on time. The breakfast was fine with plenty of choice although we didn't try the evening meal as there are so many restuarants in Buggiba. The staff were friendly and we found them to be helpful. If we were to go back to Malta we would probably not stay at this hotel.

Rough round the edges

Stayed here early September. Location is in built up area with very poor surrounding roads in bad condition. A ten minute walk will get you to St Pauls Bay and a nice stoll to Bugibba where you can eat and drink as you look out over the Mediterranean. Bliss. I was a single traveller and was put in a 3 bedroom suite with no view of pool area except a wall. Disappointing. Only stayed room only so didnt try breakfast or dinners. You can get breakfast in Bugibba at good prices. Restaurant looked clean and bright. Receptionists were approachable and staff appeared friendly. Pool area was reasonable with sun decks and umbrellas and there is a pool bar. This area was used for evening entertainment which finished at 11.30pm. I would describe this hotel as a budget Hotel. Its one of those "you get what you pay for" hotels basic facilities but you may be lucky and get the best of everything. Buses are handy to get to.I would try something different next time
