You get what you pay for

Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Pool Man bekommt wofür man bezahlt.

Has Promise but is Sub Par

The good: The hotel is in a good location, not a far walk from the shore where there are plenty of good places to drink and eat and all together enjoy yourself. The pool in the hotel is nice, the bar at the hotel is a big plus and is very reasonably priced. The lobby is nice as well. The bad: I arrived at the hotel and they could not find the reservation I made. I had to wait 15 minutes for them to figure it out. When I got to the room, instead of the non-smoking double bedroom I requested, we were given a smoking room with twin beds pushed together. I've been to enough European hotels to know the twin bed thing is normal. But usually then at least zip them together and put full bed sheets on, they did not do that in this case. The room was far down a hall way and we were only staying one night so we didn't bother to complain about it. The ugly: When we went to take a shower the shower head was installed on a really bad angle. The water shot right down to the corner where it filled up the bathroom. This could have literally been fixed with 20 minutes of effort by the hotel staff. Instead we had to use every towel we had to absorb the water that was headed toward the hallway. This is an obvious case of them simply not putting in the effort. In conclusion, it was not worth what we paid, and I would not stay again. I have stayed in two other hotels in Malta in the past, one in the same neighborhood and had a better experience (for less) at both.

Good value for the cost (amenities include a gym and a pool); located in a quaint neighborhood not far from the sea. I was particularly impressed with the bus system. I recommend the 1-week bus pass which you can buy at the airport. From the airport, take X3 - Buggiba and get off at the Ishmael stop. You can walk to the hotel from there.

awful

We enquired about late check out in writing prior to staying as we were only there for one night instead of going home after a wedding, on arrival they said to call down in the morning. There was no phone. The cleaners barged in rudely, obviously nobody had informed them we wanted late check out (we would have paid extra). At the reception we informed them.sleepily, about the situation and that there was no phone and she smiled and patronisingly said 'thank you hope you enjoyed your stay' no sorry or explanation. We paid extra for a double.room and got three single beds. We have never complained before but we're just thankful we only had to deal with the atrocious service for one night. Basically once they have your money they really do NOT care

Was meinen Sie damit?Familienurlaub

Posted Apr 25, 2012 on Hotels

Basic

Posted Apr 8, 2012
You basically get what you pay for. Low cost hotel, so don't expect anything other than the basics in your room. The toilet could cope with simple tasks, but struggled with more complex ones (if you get my drift!). Room had a two pin plug TV, and a three pin socket in the wall. So no use at all.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your comments. It is a pity you did not report the problem with the toilet flush and the plugs at reception as these would have been sorted out by our maintenance team. We hope to see you again at the San Pawl Hotel on your next visit to Malta Kind regards Carol Burgess General Manager
