Quiet and inexpensive hotel with poolPosted Oct 24, 2013
Pros: Price was good. Room cleaning was good.
Cons: Wi-Fi is unreasonable expensive - they ask for 2.5 euro just for 1 hour. No hot dishes for breakfast (you can, however, order it, but for extra pay).
Location: Qawra is nice small city, here is almost nothing to do, but the promenade has a lovely views. This city is good as base point to trips to Gozo.
Stayed at the hotel for 5 days in October, had a bed & breakfast, but they have also all inc. (if you wish). In overall, it's good hotel for enjoying a relaxing break, they have a pool with bar at the roof and also another room on the first floor. Many elderly people stayed here, as well as families with young children. But it doesn't mean it's boring, at least we had a nice evening one day when there was a bit windy outside, and hotel staff organized for guest karaoke and dance party at the first floor bar. The rooms is spacious enough. No aircon, only a ceiling fan. Every room have a bath and toilet. The furniture is not very new. Also there a balcony, the views however is not very beatiful, I mean no sea view, just waste-ground and buildings. The breakfast was ok, some veggs, fruits, one kind of cheese and 3 kinds of meat. Toasts. Some sweets. Cofee and juice drinks. No hot dishes. The hotel loated close to bus stop (5 min. walks), seafront with cafes and shops in about 10-15 min. walks. It's a bit tricky to find the hotel in the first time, do not believe online maps routing (if you decided to stay here, it's better to ask hotel staff how to find them).

Comfortable hotelPosted Sep 27, 2013
The twin/double room was large and comfortable, though the bathroom was on the small side (manageable though). Not a great view from our balcony as we overlooked what looked like a long abandoned partially built hotel complex. The continental breakfast was good with a wide selection of food (full English was an extra 3 Euro per day), be ready for the 07:30 rush for breakfast! Quite well located near to Tourist Street, probably a brisk 10-15 min walk to the main bus station and main bar/restaurant areas (which is fine if you are quite mobile). Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, however breakfast room staff could have been more polite in our opinion. Would go back again and stay there though.

Hotel location not great.Posted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: It was adequate. The furniture was old and well worn. The hairdryer in bathroom didn't work. The sower tap came off in our hand and had to be replaced.
Cons: Better room furniture (more modern fittings really necessary) The hygiene of the locality needs improving. Smells were quite offensive
Location: The location was not great. Probably the furthest away from the centre, beach and local facilities.A good walk was always required (which may not suit
It is a good 20 mins walk to Bus Terminus or seafront and local shops and restaurants are 10 mins walk. The streets surrounding the hotel were smelly and fouled by dog faeces. The staff were friendly and the food adequate. A cooked breakfast cost 3 Euros extra otherwise a continental style meal. Evening meals were good and only the main dishes were portioned out. The room was adequate but not great. Air-con was noisy but worked well (with the occasional leak). Old CRT T.V's in room with few channels to select (ITV News mostly). The indoor pool was freezing and small and rooftop pool small and very shallow. The staff were all friendly. Only good for cooling off. For the price, and as a package holiday, very acceptable.

Good hotel with poor airconditioningPosted Aug 10, 2013
Cons: Air conditioning!!!
The hotel is not bad, but there was a major drawback: they turn off air conditioning till 3p.m. It was really terrible during the hot Maltese summer! Also there was a bad smell in the bathroom. Everything else is OK. The dinner is very moderate but it's cheap. The internet is available for 2 euro per hour, no daily or weekly plans. It's about 10 minutes to walk to the central part of village. I'm in doubt whether to recommend this hotel or not.. If it's not a summer travel, I would recommend it.

Acceptable not greatPosted Jun 13, 2013
While the hotel was generally clean and well maintained, small isues let them and the staff down. One, the bathroom had no extractor fan. This meant when I first entered the room there was a damp feel and smell to the room, and after using the bathroom I felt like the whole room was damp. The blackout blinds in the bedroom were useless and it seems odd to put them up at all given that they only covered half the window. The price the hotel charge for wifi was also extortionate, and despite being told 'there is no free wifi in Malta you have to pay,' I know this to not be the case as all the restaurants and bars in the area did provide free wifi. The staff were generally kind and welcoming, however, the pool area on the roof was a little run down and I wouldn't plan to spend any time here. A pleasant enough stay but I would not go so far as to recommend this hotel.

Spring BreakPosted May 5, 2013
We found the hotel with a little difficulty because until you get used to the road system in Malta it is in a back street with a few dead ends on route. The staff were good as was the food, the room was clean and tidy what more could you ask for (less rain perhaps). There is a good view of St Paul's Bay from the roof sun terrace.

close to the sea, quite neighbourhoodPosted Jul 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
you get for what you pay, value for money, it met my expectations, though conditions at the hotel should be slightly improved

Not as good as promisedPosted Sep 15, 2011
Room was clean. However, shower kept flooding and management could not find any problems or reasons for this. Breakfast was mediocre and the hotel tried to charge us for everything, even a cup of ice!

"Refreshing Sunflower of Malta"Posted Aug 6, 2011
A very comfortable hotel...found myself spending the entire day in my room...it was that homely. Breakfast was very good, good variety. Staff very helpful and accommodating. Location about 10 minutes from boardwalk not a bad trek, you can always stop at the numerous English style pubs and bars as you walk and refresh yourself. Overall a very good hotel....no complaints whatsoever.

Excellent service, friendly staff, clean roomsPosted Jun 14, 2011
The hotel is located close to sea, the staff are charming and very helpful. The rooms are very clean. Do not expect complimentary soaps and shampoos though. I have not been bothered by noticeable noise from others. The lift is very small and is always in use by housekeeping or other guests - better to take the stairs. Breakfast is basic. I do not know about the quality of dinner nor have I visited the pool. I would definitely recommend the hotel for its excellent staff and the cleanliness of the place. And the friendly rates.
