Not 5 starPosted Nov 23, 2014
Staff very helpful and good customer service. Hotel is looking a little tired, decor is generally dated and even shabby in some parts of the hotel. Italian restaurant is great value for money and tasty food. Overall 5 star prices but not a 5 star hotel.

Great Hotel in a Beautiful LocationPosted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: The beautiful location and pool area is fantastic.
Location: Location is in the busy St Julians area so you are able to walk everywhere.
Have visited Malta many times and this was the first time staying at the Dragonara. Beautiful location with sweeping water views and great facilities. Rooms are large with nice balconies and the hotel is in walking distance to great restaurants and also the Casino. Would definitely stay there again.

Luxury hotel with great attention to detail.Posted Oct 2, 2014
Pros: All the above!
Cons: Perhaps quicker registration. Had to wait in a queue for about 15 mins to sign in.
Location: St. Julian. Easy to walk to Sliema and get the ferry to Valletta. Lots of museums in Valletta.
Luxury through and through. Room very spacious and comfortable. Super comfortable beds. Staff helpful and pleasant. Our room was on the outside of the 'horseshoe' which enclosed the pool and restaurant so was therefore quieter. I think some rooms on the inside may have been a bit noisy but we were lucky and I would ask for our room or something similarly located in future visits. We appreciated the towels for poolside use and the fact that sun beds couldn't be reserved and in fact the towels were removed by staff if anyone did try to reserve sun beds. Excellent food served in the restaurants. Reasonably priced too. Would go back there without hesitation.

Excellent hotelPosted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly, efficient staff Comfy beds with pillow menu, spacious rooms and balconies, good food Great location & super pool
Cons: Dining in the buffet restaurant is a bit like eating in a cafeteria. The lounge bar & terrace has a limited menu but much nicer ambience
Location: Great pool & sports facilities at the hotel. Easy road journey to places worth visiting eg: Valetta, Mosta, Naxxar, Mdina, Marsaxlokk etc
My third stay at the Dragonara, and excellent as always. Probably the best hotel in its class on Malta, and certainly the best Sunday lunches (if you can get a table, the locals book them up fast!)

A hotel to really relax in.Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: The relaxed feel and efficient staff.
Cons: Free Wifi in rooms would have been an advantage.
Location: We visited Valletta and enjoyed our visit to the War museums. A boat trip across to Gozo is a must and Comino and the Blue Grotto.
We stayed at the hotel early in September for a relaxing break. We throughly enjoyed the hotel facilities & the relaxed feel of the hotel. It was are first visit to Malta and hopefully not our last. We were centrally based to visit all of the highlights of the islands. The restaurants offer a variety of meals that would suit all pockets. There is also a variety of restaurants locally that offer a wide variety of menus.

Fabulous setting and a short walk into St JuliansPosted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The staff as soon as you arrive are all there to help. The location fabulous. Rooms clean and comfortable. Food and wine excellent. A joy
Cons: Extra Double glazing on the balcony window to stop the noise of loud music from the Pavillion on a Friday night until 3.30 in the morning.
Location: Loads to do, we took a boat out. Went sightseeing and shopping.. Loved St Johns Cathedral. A good selection of restaurants in St Julian's.
Everything was good except on the Friday night, when a party took place at the Pavillion opposite to our room. The noise was deafening until 3.30 in the morning. Saturday was better as it finished at 1.00. We were given a complimentary bottle of Chardonnay and earplugs. Made us smile. Staff all very helpful

Great hotel in St JuliansPosted Sep 21, 2014
We have just returned from a week's stay at the Westin Dragonara in St Julians & would wholeheartedly recommend it. The facilities are fantastic - 2 outdoor pools, private beach (rocky) and decking with private access to the sea, gym, indoor pool, sauna etc. The staff were great and we had a great room on the ground floor (2 kingsize beds). We have not stayed at a 5* resort/hotel before but really enjoyed it. The location is as good as any in St Julians and suitably set back from Paceville so as not to be noisy etc.
