Very poor condition needed a complete refurb, the water system needs replacing we left the shower running for 15mins before hot water arrived, breakfast very expensive, the cottage whilst in a nice location is very rundown,signs outside state hotel and restaurant, which it was once, but now only a b/b

Went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, it was a lovely old cottage with beautiful view of the garden. The breakfast was excellent. Definitely go back there.

Excellent!!
I felt very welcomed and nothing was too much trouble even tho I arrived much later than expected due to traffic difficulties. Yes it does need some updating but the room I stayed in was warm, spacious and had a great view over the garden. Breakfast is cooked to your order, chosen the night before and was spot on. I definitely intend to return and feel I’ve made new friends in Marina and Mark - they’re excellent hosts with great sense of pride and care in what they provide for their guests.

Charming house near Malvern
When we arrived we were told there was new management who had only been there a couple of days and to let them know if there were any issues and they would sort things. The property is a lovely old house, that I understand will be completely updated soon, but we loved the old features - lovely furniture in the rooms and a very comfortable bed. Our en suite had a bath without a shower, which was unusual and wouldn't suit everyone, but was fine for us (nice big steel bath - hope they don't lose this in the refurb). There is a wonderful huge wisteria bush / tree outside the dining room and our bedroom overlooked this - it was flowering when we stayed and the room was naturally perfumed - fantastic! The very helpful manager worked hard to try to ensure that everything ran smoothly. The old layout has some quirks, so once you are upstairs there are some steps down then up again to get into the rooms - maybe not so good if you have mobility problems. Sufficient parking for guests on site. The one issue we had was that the front door was locked at 9 pm and we hadn't been given a front door key. We knocked and, I think, frightened the manager although it wasn't very late, so we got in the building OK. Best to check you are given a front door key if you are going out in the evening. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to go there again.

Great hotel
Julie and her wonderful dog Wilma made me very welcome, room was fantastic, had a great sleep and an amazing full english breakfast. Excellent value for money , will definitely be staying again

Ideal for the Malvern hills.
Delightful stay, Julie the owner and Wilma the dog made you feel very much at home. The breakfast was lovely, first class. A restful night sleep. I would recommend this hotel.

The Hotel was a quaint country house, venue been a hotel for 75 years the owner was a very good hostess. The breakfast was very good, service excellent.It was very clean throughout,Well worth the visit.

I liked the homely feel and landlady was wzrm and welcoming. Good choices for breakfast. and ny porridge was as i liked it made with lovely oats. My only complaint is that the shower needed to be more powerful

A very friendly little hotel
We were made very welcome from the minute we stepped through the door. The hotel is small and has an olde worlde charm. Our room was light and airy and the bed was beautifully comfortable. We ate there both evenings and the food was amazing. Because of the intimate atmosphere in the bar and dining room, we spent a very pleasant evening chatting to the other guests. The hotel is ideally situated only a very short drive from the beautiful Malvern Hills, which we visited each day.

Beautiful, Quaint and Perfect
Set in beautiful grounds, this hotel is a hidden gem. Spotlessly clean rooms, comfortable beds and amazingly friendly hosts with their gorgeous dog. I really didn't want to leave, I felt so at home. The breakfast was great - loads of choice and the location was very handy for the M5 and for Malvern. Lovely bar which looks out over picturesque gardens. I am looking forward to going back again.

Welcoming and friendly, with excellent food
The welcome was warm, and check-in was quick. There was plenty of parking. The single room was comfortable, very clean, and quiet. The staff could not have been more helpful or cheerful if they’d tried, in spite of some trying circumstances beyond their control (a powercut to the whole village), and the food - both breakfast and dinner - was excellent. There was plenty to do in the local area, and the landlady was very helpful in suggesting places to go. I would cheerfully stay here again.

Lovely country house hotel
This is a great place to stay if you’re after peace and quiet! Very welcoming hosts, lovely cottage feel, comfy beds and an excellent breakfast. We were in the area to attend a wedding at Birtsmorton Court, and this hotel is an easy drive. Would recommend.

A quiet little hotel in the country
With just eight rooms, set in relaxing gardens well back from a country road and flanked by farms, this is a good place for those who want a peaceful, relaxing break. Steve and Julie are most helpful and charming hosts. Be sure to try the beef and ale pie!

An ideal base for The Malverns
We had a one night stay here and were made to feel welcome by our hosts. Our room had a marvellous view of The Malverns that made our stay there special. Had a good night's sleep as the bed was really comfortable. We ate in the restaurant and were not disappointed. They were very accommodating to our dietary needs. The day started with an excellent breakfast, we enjoyed a traditional cooked breakfast, the only thing missing was black pudding. This small homely hotel makes an excellent base for walking The Malverns. It is only a 5 to 10 minute drive to the car park for British vamp.

Quaint cottage hotel
Overall experience was good. Food was very good and room was lovely with a quirky bathroom that you had to go down the steps to.Very comfortable bed. Owners went out of their way to accommodate me leaving early and had a nice breakfast ready for me. Unfortunately the hot water failed that morning , which was not their fault. I would stay here again.

The warm, friendly and helpful service at Holdfast Cottage Hotel made our stay there a very pleasant one. We hope to return to this peaceful location to continue our exploration of the many attractions and beautiful countryside in this area. The only thing we missed was access to a shower, although it was fun rediscovering the joys of having a bath!

Lovely Weekend Break
We have just returned from a lovely weekend break at the Holdfast Cottage Hotel, the Hotel was very welcoming and everyone was friendly and helpful, we ate at the restaurant on Friday evening and cannot fault the food. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, from cereal, fresh fruit, porridge to a full English. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience

Amazing stay. The owners of the cottage were absolutely amazing. Local area rayed slightly lower due to limited amneties. If you can't drive taxi firms are limited and expensive. But the hotel itself was excellent

Homely, relaxing cottage hotel
Warmly welcomed. Home from home. Good facilities and room somewhat restricted due to age of property - beam directly over bath, so you needed to watch your head! Cheap plastic toilet seat! Comfortable bed. Very relaxing and comfortable property. Lovely lounge with views over garden. Large lawned rear garden with plenty of seating. Dinner is served in pleasant dining room at rear of property overlooking garden. Excellently cooked food - both breakfast and evening meal. Could not fault either and the service. Would definitely stay again if in the area. Good access to Malvern and Ledbury. So good base to travel short distance to Malvern to tackle the hills. All in all a very pleasant experience and a lovely atmosphere pervades the property and all provided.

I was on a business trip and the Holdfast Hotel was a very nice quiet hotel to stay at,overlooking lovely gardens; the room was warm and comfortable;. The breakfast was served quickly and was of a high standard.
