Quaint Mom & Pop feeling place

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: It was cute and the breakfast service was great.
Cons: More accessible staff by phone
Location: We went to a wedding in June Lake. It was gorgeous.
We were coming a long distance for a wedding. The journey took much longer than expected so we didn't have a chance to check in before the wedding started. We were eventually able to get ahold of them by phone and arranged a way to get the keys to our rooms. When we arrived we found the keys but were unable to get into one of the two rooms we booked. The key just wouldn't work, we tried for a good 5 minutes. We tried the phone outside the office twice and were unable to get ahold of anyone. We thought we'd try again later when we came back from visiting the wedding after party. Upon re-arrival at the hotel there was a bear fairly close (200 feet or so) to our room and the hotel office. Driving up we startled him from his dumpster dive and he ran away. He seemed to go back to the trash after a short amount of time so we quietly and quickly made our way to our room. Although the bear seemed content with his feast, we decided not to try the office phone again as it was outside and a little ways from the hotel room. If we had been staying in the set of rooms that were detached from the office the bear would have only been 20-30 feet away. They were kind enough to refund us for the room we couldn't access. They told us that they tried calling the after hours phone back a couple minutes after we called. We just didn't stick around long enough. Take away's here are: Avoid checking in late. There are very much bears outside at night in extremely close proximity.

Great staff and breakfast

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Staff were all really lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was good, with a fresh omelette prepared for us, a nice change to the standard USA motel breakfast. Room was clean, but very dated. I imagine some of their customers probably like the older vibe to it, but it wasn't really my thing.

Charming B&B

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Room decoration, spa, fireplace
Cons: Walls were thin so we could here people taking shower in the neighboring rooms. There was a heater but no air conditioner. We used the provided fan.
Location: Mammoth Lakes
We enjoyed the charming room, relaxing spa and the tasty breakfast (omelet)

Very good experience

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Staff is super nice. Beds are comfortable. peaceful surroundings.
Cons: It would be better if the office can open later than 8pm since I like the living room there.
Location: It only takes about half an hour to visit all of the view points, which are mainly the lakes. There are a bunch of restaurants near the hotel.
Very satisfied experience. The hotel is located on the main street which is very easy to find. Very peaceful and beautiful little town and not far from the lakes. Staff is extremely kind and friendly. He gave us a lot of useful information. Beds are comfortable. Although there was no choice of breakfast, they served good hot breakfast with ham & cheese omelet and toast. I would recommend this hotel to people whom come visit mammoth lakes.

Cosy Inn with limited amenities and room space.

Posted May 31, 2014
Cosy Inn. Slightly overpriced for the amenities and space of the room for 3-4 adults. There's a warmer available but we took quite awhile to figure out how to startup the air-con. The ham and omelet breakfast prepared on-the-spot was nice.

Pleasant

Pros: Great home cooked afternoon tea and breakfast.
Cons: Getting the room type we paid for.
Cute little place in spring, imagine it would be even better in winter with the snow. The staff were friendly and helpful, with a delicious home baked afternoon tea provided free of charge. Our one issue was that we booked a room with 2 double beds only to be given a king sized bed. I am travelling with a friend so one of us had to sleep on a couch, which wasn't what we paid for. If we'd known there were no doubles available we would've stayed elsewhere so they shouldn't have shown this type of room as available when we booked it months ago. The wifi also didn't work in the room, which was also listed free as part of the booking.

Better off sleeping on the floor

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: The lobby, the manager guy, the location.
Cons: Softer beds, showers that drain.
After a long jaunt from San Diego, we arrived to the hotel a little after 6:00. The lobby was very cute, quaint and had a familuar New England vibe. We stood in the lobby area for a minute waiting for someone to come out. No one did, so I started snooping around. I saw a note, it says ring bell and someone will be with you shortly. I rang the bell. Waited… a few minutes passed, I rang the bell again…. some more time passed, I didn't want to be rude, maybe the person staffing had difficulties walking, or, maybe they had difficulties hearing. So I rang that bell again, loud and for a good amount of time. The hotel manager Rudy maybe Ruby, super nice guy, came flying into the lobby. He took my license / ID checked us in and showed us to the room. We put our bags down and went out to grab a bite. While out, I realized he had not given my ID or my license back, no big deal, I got it later. After dinner we were completely exhausted and so excited to jump into bed. Little did I know "the jump" would literally give me a charlie horse! OUCH! Then I pulled back the blanket and found a nice medium sized brown hair on my pillow, I am no detective, but I do suspect it belonged to Rudy, at least I knew the guy it came from. I brought my own pillow, but YUCK. Over all worst bed I have ever slept in. It was hard as the floor and every time either of us moved the whole thing would squeak, shake and sway. To end it, the shower didn't drain so I was standing in someone else's grime.
