Once was enough.Posted Oct 20, 2013
Smokiest non-smoking room I've been in. Staff could have cared less about smoke issue). 1970's carpets need to go.

Look elsewherePosted Oct 17, 2013
The room is small, but the bed was actually very comfortable, but overall I won't give it a recommendation. There is no thermostat to adjust room temp, it got stuffy but the windows are screwed shut. Must be miserable in the summer so there is a fan in the closet. There was no suitcase stand, no refrigerator, broken bathroom heater, and the noisest bathroom fan I've had in any hotel room. To top it off, after prepaying through expedia they chargeds us $45.00 at check out for a "resort fee". I must have missed the fine print, but I've never had to pay a "resort fee" before. There are better places to stay closer to town and it would be more convenient anyway.

Right at the main lift at Mammoth.Posted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: Hot tubs and a heated pool were nice. Rooms were very comfortable. Parking was indoors, although narrow.
We were supposed to ride motorcycles, but with rain/hail/snow, good thing we took the car. If it winter and you want to ski, this is the place to get a room. Rooms were very comfortable, heat/AC worked just fine. Beware, there is a $30 resort fee attached to your bill.

Great location and very clean. Facilities great.Posted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: The hotel was clean, quiet and the facilities excellent. The teenage son's would very much like to come back for the ski season.
Cons: Nothing comes to mind!
Location: The location was great. As it was summer the 'mountain bikers' were great to watch. Took a short drive into town, we were spoilt for choice for dinner
We only stayed one night on our way through from Yosemite to Death Valley - would have stayed longer if we had known that the hotel and location was this good. The facilities on site were excellent. We used the pool and spa which was clean and quiet.

Friendly Staff and a Wonderful RoomPosted Aug 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our first impression was that we had driven too far and had arrived in the Tyrolean Alps. The Hotel and surrounding buildings give you that rustic, European feel of a well maintained, older structure. We arrived a bit early and the front desk got us checked in quickly and even upgraded our room to a magnificent suite. Since we were here for a sporting event, we also requested a late departure which was granted without any issues. A great staff and nice accommodations. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay another week or so, but we had to move on to keep our schedule. We will return.

Beautiful LocationPosted Aug 21, 2013
Pros: The location was terrific, but there weren't many food choices. We drove 10 minutes to Mammoth Village to eat. We could have taken a bus there also.
Cons: I think they should be up front about the resort fee. If it was mentioned during the booking, I missed it!
Location: You MUST ride the gondola. It's pricey, but worth it! The ride and the view are terrific. The inn has $5 off coupons and kids under 12 ride free.
First, the only annoying thing: there's $22 tacked onto your bill when you get there for a "Resort Charge." We only stayed one night, so I don't know if that's each night or for the entire stay, but might be something to consider when your selecting your lodging. Now the great stuff: I had booked a room with two double beds, but we got a room with a king-size bed and a loft with two single beds -- basically a very comfortable room for four! And it was right across the street from the ski lift! So we have the ski lift in front, the forest (with a hiking trail) in the back, and mountains all around. It's a beautiful location. The inn is appropriately furnished like a forest lodge and the bar overlooks the ski lift area. We saw many guests who had been hiking or mountain biking down the ski hills.

Expensive night's sleepPosted Aug 17, 2013
Pros: Not much...lobby was very pretty
Cons: Choices for breakfast, refurbish the rooms, more parking places
Location: It is just half an hour from Yosemite and there are hiking trails, ski lifts etc nearby
If all you are after is sleep, it is an expensive way to get it. If you have ever been to Europe and experienced the bare bones facilities there you have the feel for this place. From the ads I thought it was a chateau like setting but it was a very basic room. It looks like the hiking might be good but it is an expensive way to get it. Breakfast was overpriced, bathroom was small. I don't think this place has been redone in a very long time. AND if you arrive after dark just keep driving on the unmarked road for a looong time. Oh and the parking garage was so tight and filled.
