“Romantic and relaxing...”

The service was excellent and the cabins are rustic and romantic. We are definitely planning to stay there again. We couldn't get a reservation at their restaurant (which smelled delicious), because they were booked solid. So make your dinner reservations ahead of time of you plan to eat there.

“can't wait to go back”

The cabin had Spectacular view, and it was located in very quiet and peaceful area. All the staff were extremely polite and friendly. I’ve had couple requests for room temperature and internet access, received immediate attention.

“East view room”

Good location for exploring the lakes, hiking, biking and snowshoeing in winter, continental breakfast is out promptly, coffee wasn't great but make it au lait. Bring earplugs if you stay next to the stairs, the floor creaks. feels like an upscale adult hostel, bathrooms are shared but really clean. 2 restrooms downstairs never had issue with waiting, just showered at night. Always hot water. Restaurant is good but pricey, nice view of the lake, serive is excellent, staff is friendly and helpful, recommend reservations. Overall great experience, would stay again.

“Rustic”

This is a very rustic hotel and those staying there have to want that experience. The employees were very helpful when we left a cell phone behind.

“Stay Here Vs. Yosemite”

Rustic and a bit primitive, but outstanding place to stay = right on Twin Lakes in Mammoth Mountain area in CA high Sierra's. Skip staying in Yosemite your last night, exit through East entrance and stay here.

“Perfect get away from the city!”

My 4 yr old daughter and I traveled to Mammoth for the weekend. This historic lodge was just what the Dr. ordered. Old and rustic with a warm friendly staff and scenic vies. Shared restrooms and simple rooms are exactly what I needed.

“Very nice lodge”

The location of the tamarack lodge is excellent with a lake in the front, however little far from the Village @ Mammoth but thats okay since the hotel has shuttles frequently to the Village. The rooms are also very nice and cozy but the bed was not that good. The bed is very uncomfortable with spring matress. After a tiring day of skiing, one would expect to have a peaceful sleep but that is not the case. The staff at the hotel is also very friendly and extremely helpful.

“Great historic hotel at lake”

The lodge is pleasingly rustic. People enjoy hanging out near the large stone fireplace. The lodge rooms are affordable and basic, knotty pine, with windows facing the lake. Outlying cabins are of two types, historic and modern. The modern cabins are large and chic. It is much better to be out in the wild than in town!
