...Linda was great, though!Posted Nov 27, 2013
Pros: The driver to pick my up was on time, appearance of hotel is nice, Linda at reception was wonderful, extremely patient, deserves a better venue
Cons: Location of hotel, (43 minutes from airport to hotel which is listed as being 6+ miles away), workers should not be sleeping on the job...
Location: Did not have time to do anything, just stayed the night...did not appear to be close to much...but hard to say.
Linda was great at the front desk. Breakfast was a fiasco. Got butter for a meat and cheese croissant when I had asked for a simple croissant with butter. The front reception area was pitch dark and two people were found sleeping, resting when I came out to get said breakfast (that they knew I would be expecting). The driver showed up about one minute before I needed to leave, so I was wondering if I was going to have to call a taxi when they offer free airport shuttle. But, when you are having to make an international departure, you don't want to start worrying that you will be late since you are dealing with an virtually unknown airport and don't know what you will have in store for you when you get there (like having to stand in line at American just to get a stamp on my boarding pass so pre-security will allow me access to security...so that was not appreciated.

Horrible Management/ No Safety, Not recommended!Posted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: Bedroom is elegant. great furniture, bed, pool, lobby, Jacuzzi, awesome porcelain tiles, well architected and constructed. wanted to get married here.
Cons: the present mangement needs to be FIRED asap, needs security, staff working 24 hours, lower taxi abusive rates, be considerate. bigger breakfast.
Location: Nothing, NO taxi pass by there. they use there own taxi and charge 4 more. middle of nowhere, no safety, dont recommend at all. just drunk people scre
After searching/staying in Intercontinental Real Met, Hilton Prin, Barcelo, and Hex I really believed this is the place where I would want to get married. Beauty of this hotel amazed me! The hotel taxi charged us big rate ride to Irish pub. What an abuse and rip off! I got a taxi and paid only 4 times less from same location from Irish pub to hotel. As we arrived to the hotel 2:24AM it was CLOSED!. I waited for (one hour) outside. Knocking the window door. Had to call my friends to come and pick us up. It was a total embarrassment. As I waited I had to call on a stranger passing by with his car to honk the horn for 20 mins. Until someone woke up and opened the door and then I had to send my local friends back home. Next evening Sat night, Nov 10. 2013 For 2 hours there was people screaming, a drunk lady singing/ drunk man shouting profanity all drunk outside front lobby in my apartment from 4am- 6am. I kindly called front desk 4:45am and said please tell people to lower their voices. I’m trying to sleep. later I had a same man in front of my door saying threatening, harassing and saying profanity. The front desk told the man we called and complain. This could have been a very severe liability and problem for the hotel and the harassment that was scrammed in my front door. didnt feel safe. It was horrible experienced. Expedia, cheaphotels, hotels.com knows my history I’ve stayed in approximately 150 hotels. This is my first ever-bad review. they need to remove this hotel.

Excellent Stay, Professional StaffPosted Nov 11, 2013
I usually don't take the time to write a review, but was impressed with the Hotel from the start and had a positive experience. The staff was professional and helpful, room was clean modern, flat screen TV, excellent AC. Each room has a theme. The restaurant was cozy, food was so, so, so good, the presentation was spectacular. Prices for dinner were extremely reasonable, I would pay more than double back in the states. I recommend the sea bass or the churrasco steak. Amazing!!! Pool was relaxing, hotel quiet and peaceful. Felt safe and comfortable. The hotel has their own car service, this was a big plus. Would return for another stay.

Best hotel I've stayed in in awhile!Posted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: It is very clean, very beautiful and the staff is amazing!
Cons: I really cannot think of one thing.
Location: It is not too far from the airport.
I loved this hotel. From beginning to end it was one of my greatest hotel experiences. I accidentally booked the wrong type of room and they changed it with ease for me and my friend and gave us a complimentary drink while we waited for the change to happen. When they found out that I was leaving early in the morning before breakfast they said they would pack me and my friend a breakfast to go. We had dinner in the restaurant and the food was fabulous. The staff was very attentive and kind. The hotel itself fits the name. It is so beautiful inside. I could not believe they do not charge more for the stay. From a scale of 1-10 I give this hotel 100.

good intentions, bad roomPosted Aug 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at Hotel Comtempo as a "layover' from San Juan del Sur back to Managua airport. The hotel is trying too hard to be uber-design. We were given room 3 which I believe to be the worse room. The shower stall was in the room, which was okay since I was traveling with my husband. The shower itself was horrible. If you didn't know which way to turn the dial on the shower the shower had spouted water from the middle heads in the stall. The water went "through" the shower as it was the shower walls weren't sealed. We had water everywhere. There was no place to hang the towels. The lighting fixtures are horribly designed - bad florescent overhead lighting hidden in ceiling. The bad room door was translucent so there is absolutely no privacy for anyone going to the bathroom. We went to the pool area which had construction so not at all relaxing. The AC made a rattling loud noise every 20 minutes. Room #3 was really fell like a design jail cell. We should have asked to change rooms but we were so tired from the traveling. Only thing good was the service, our taxi driver and dinner. I would not recommend Hotel Contempo.

Gem of HotelPosted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: The food, music, relaxing atmosphere.
Location: Location is about 15-20 minutes from airport. Distance from airport is not bad if there isn't any traffic. There is a mall not too far from airport.
Hotel Contempo is probably one of the best hotels to stay at in Nicaragua. Very accommodating, my flight was delayed and arrived very late and someone from the hotel was waiting for me after my flight. Upon arrival of the hotel, Jesus was very friendly and explained all of the details of my room. The chef at Hotel Contempo is excellent. I ordered the sea bass and it was one of the best dishes I had in Nicaragua. I really liked the music the hotel played throughout the day and everyone assisted me with any questions I may of had. On my return trip after Corn Island I stayed at Hotel Contempo again. Jesus again assisted me and put me in a great room--#8 for my sister and I. We were glad to have a nice upgrade on the last day of our trip. Will definitely stay here again when I go back to Nicaragua.

pleasant stay in Manuagua, Nicaragua.Posted Jun 2, 2013
Pros: bed with Wall TV good eggs Benedict , friendly staff , good restaurant with french chef trained by Daria, good comfortable mattresses and linens
Cons: trouble with internet in room but was rectified
Location: a little out of the way from downtown Managua about 45 minutes from airport. . after 9 pm you can drive with caution thru red lights.
The contempo hotel is fairly new. the restaurant was very good with good choice for the breakfast included in room rate which was good value compared to other hotels in the area. quiet area with residential housing around hotel. safe. front attendents very friendly and helpfull. they take you straight to your room with no check in waiting. room service was good. all speak good English. A young lady Daria advised them and arranged for a complimentary 30 minute massage each day by a very good Cuban masseuse. a nice welcome perk. has a pool . I had a little trouble getting onto the wireless internet in my room but that was fixed on last day of my stay. country is safe. no prostitution , roads were good. A Spanish town Grenada 40 minutes away with some of the oldest buildings in central america worth the trip.
