A GREAT FIND IN GRANADAPosted Jan 14, 2015
Pros: Peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, comfortable and clean, great team, pool (more for cooling off than swimming)
Cons: Happy with things as they are. Why pay more for stuff you don't really need? Oh.....wife says a hair dryer would be handy.
Location: 10 mins stroll from centre and attactions - climb the church tower on the way
This was our first visit to Nicaragua and we wanted a quiet place within strolling distance of Granada centre which offered peace and quiet, a clean and comfortable room and value for money. We found the Xalteva had all that with the bonus of a good breakfast on the terrace by the pool and without exception every member of staff was very helpful, efficient and friendly (this also applies to the owner, who was there on one of his frequent stays). It really was an easy stroll to the centre but when we wanted transport for trips (e.g. to Masaya) the staff quickly arranged a taxi. Staff were also very helpful with information and suggestions. Plenty of leaflets available and a library including travel guides.

Pros: beautiful rooms, spacious, just wonderful, staff very kind.
Cons: none perfect
Location: Granada offers lots to do and see, walking around the old city, dining outside with everbody else, such fun, lovely city.
we only stayed 1 night it was perfect. the full kitchen was brilliant to prepare any extra food, we did dine out at the blue marlin, the local seafood restaurant, fantastic. also the garden and pool area was lovely.

Perfect stay in GranadaPosted Mar 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was basic, but clean and the staff very friendly and very helpful. The rooms are small, the pool was nice and seemed to cleaned on a daily basis, no complaints there. The location was fairly convenient, something right downtown would be better, we took a taxi a few times (only 50 cents fair) to downtown, but once we learned our way around we were fine walking after that. It's about a 15 minute walk to downtown, through some residential neighborhoods and you will pass homeless people, but that's everywhere there. It wasn't a neighborhood we didn't feel safe in.

Great little Hotel in GranadaPosted Apr 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great service and accommodations; 4-5 blocks from the city center. Personnel were responsive and nice. Great cost / benefit. Neighborhood is not the best, but when compared to the rest of the country, it was above average. Very safe, with security day/night. Breakfast was simple but delicious. Some fruit was from their own garden, and prepared exclusively for you, a charming enhancement. Not a lot available to buy there. Might want to buy sodas (Specially if you drink diet) and small bottled water in town. No food / restaurant. But plenty within close walking distance. Price of food in town is a bargain when compared with the US.
