Convenient

Posted Jun 15, 2014
Hotel conveniently located, rooms clean and comfortable. Parking available. Staff friendly . Pleasing to find tea and coffee making facility in the room, however when we asked for another sachet of coffee later in the afternoon, we were a little disappointed to be told, "no, that there was only one sachet of instant coffee, per person per room provided." Small point but after a day of walking and exploring a coffee in ones room before dinner would have been a bonus.

We thank you for having chosen our establishment as your stay near the Mont Saint-Michel. Indeed, a tray of courtesy is given free of charge in the room, it is a bit extra for the welcome of our customers but we do not resupply it For information, our bar is opened all the day. Be careful

Posted May 14, 2014
The hotel seems to advertise that it is the closest one to Mont St. Michel. Their site implies that it is at the entrance. It is, in fact, not on Mont St. Michel, but in the town across the causeway. It is not even the closest in that town. After getting there and realizing that I wasn't on the Mont as I had expected, I re-read the ad, and saw how confusing the ad was. The hotel was neat and clean, but worn. The lack of elevator wouldn't have mattered if a porter had been available. Needless to say, the several flights of stairs were a challenge with our bags. The staff was kind and helpful.

pleasant hotel in convenient location

Posted Apr 25, 2014
Pros: modern, clean, coffee or tea pot available.
Cons: no elevator, so carrying luggage up a flight or more of steps can be tiring.
Location: Close to some shops and walkable to Mont St Michel.
I stayed only 2 nights, but found it comfortable. Nice amenities provided.

A clean hotel that had a fair price and was a convenient hotel to visit Le Mont-Saint-Michel. The staff was helpful and pleasant. I would recommend it.

Comfy

Good location. Excellent food and very helpful staff. Only down side is that the hotel is located in what can only be described as a 'gated community.' Unless a code is given for the gate before you get there, you end up drifting into the very expensive public car park for Mont St Michele!

Good location

Best not to stay on island. This is good location and easy access to bus. If you drive you need access number to get through gate to hotel parking and the hotel itself. Would have been easier if hotel provided access number to get through gate with reservation. You would have a problem if you didn't have cell phone.

Very close to Le Mont St Michel

Posted Aug 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
It was OK. Very close to Le Mont St Michel. Staff was very accommodating and the location was fantastic. However, the food at the restaurant was just OK and the service was very very slow. The room had no AC and it was very warm but, you couldn't open the window because there were a lot of bugs.

Terrible Stay

Posted Jul 9, 2012 on Hotels.com
This was one of the most uncomfortable stays I have had in a long time. Travel lots (12 - 18 trips per year) and the room, while clean was one that had pipe from the boiler system running though it (boiler system for whole hotel). We asked if they could fix the heat issue (it was not hot outside) - they came with tools - didn't tell us that it wasnot the heating system and made a show of trying to adjust the system. We were told in the morning at check out what the problem was and that the evening staff did know about the problem with the room. Also, we asked for another room, but were told that all rooms were full. However, the vacancy sign had been out earlier and was still outside in the morning when we left. The room was about 90+ degrees - terribly uncomfortable night. Don't bother!! This trip we booked all hotels through hotels.com and love the service - but believe it is a sign to give the "Americans" the worst room. We received the absolutely worst rooms in all 3 hotels we stayed in. Hotels.com please find out why they are treating your clients so poorly!

Excellent Hotel - Highly Recommended

Posted Jan 23, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel was excellent! As close to Mt. St. Michel as one could ask for. The staff was quite friendly and the food at the restaurant (dinner) was some of the best had for the duration of our trip throughout France. We went in the off season, so there were no crowds and only a few guests. It was like having the hotel to ourselves! A note for prospective guests - breakfast in the mornings is not free - the price is added to your final bill. Not a complaint, just an observation (as this was not well explained prior to checkout). Price was quite reasonable, and the hotel room, although small, was quite nice. We ate at a few restaurants in town and on the Mt. itself, but we were both most impressed and pleased with the food in the hotel (so don't shy away from it simply because you're staying there). For any couple looking for a romantic getaway, I'd highly recommend staying at Le Relais Du Roy. A sincere thanks to all the staff who made our stay wonderful!
