“solid hotel”
helpful staff, good location, new rooms, good internet at 10 GBP per day
“Nice fresh hotel.”
First visit to this hotel & my first to a 4*. Staff in reception were very helpful on arrival. They gave us a pack on things to see & places to eat etc. Room was extremely comfortable and very clean. Bathroom was also noce and clean. Whole place had a fresh feel to it. Alot of older buildings tend to appear to need work doing but this was bright and well maintained. Due to travelling on a budget I did not use the restaurant. Location was fairly central. Picadilly gardens was a 10 minute walk away. China town is on the doorstep.
“excellent hotel”
being from Liverpool it goes against the grain to say any thing nice about Manchester. We stayed one night but this hotel was excellent. staff were very helpful, standards excellent. this was as good as any 4*i have stayed in. only downside was parking, but this is due to its excellent central location.
“A Pearl of a Contemporary Hotel in a Victorian Shell”
The hotel's location could not be better - at the edge of Manchester's Chinatown, across from the Art Museum, and almost adjacent to the Town Hall and a Metrolink tram stop. Although my room faced the street, it was always quiet, perfect for a late riser. The room itself and its furnishings were so clean and contemporary that you would think you were the first person ever to use it. The breakfast buffet would challenge the best anywhere, and if you did not want a full hot breakfast, the cold buffet came at a lower price and the cold table assortment was also superior to offerings at most hotels. The hotel offered all the amenities of the largest hotels in Manchester, but it is small enough so you won't feel overlooked - I felt that my two-night stay there was very important to them. The hotel's security, with a card key requirement for the elevator (plus its smaller size allowed the staff to notice and greet everyone), was well above the usual.
“Gerne wieder, sehr zentral und sauber, nette Bar imKeller”
Nettes Geschäftshotel, welches sehr zentral im Stadtkern von Manchester liegt. Im Umkreis finden sich viele Restaurants und Pubs. Im Keller ist eine gute Cocktailbar / Restaurant, welches auch von vielen Nichthotelgästen besucht ist. Der Service war durchgehend ok, der Preis aber im Vergleich zu ähnlichen Hotels ziemlich hoch.
“fantastic hotel within walking distance of everything”
Booked this hotel for overnight stay on way back from christening in Wales as in-laws and my wife were keen to see Manchester before flying back to Ireland and because we were only there for one night they wanted to be central. The hotel staff were absolutely fantastic from the doorman and reception staff right through to the barman. The hotel is located three doors from Yang Sing (reknowned for it's cantonese food especially dim sum)and across the road from chinatown. The Northern Quarter is five minutes away as is the Arndale shopping centre and all other main attractions. It was so easy to get around on foot and the hotel was perfectly located. Hotel itself is very nice with lovely bar and restaurant. We were given room upgrades as well which was a pleasant extra. Would definitely recommend this hotel and will certainly be staying there next time we visit Manchester.
“Fantastic Stay”
The Reception staff had to be the friendliest I have ever come across. Really enjoyed our stay - very central hotel, excellent chinese restaurant 3 doors away - nice secure NCP round the corner - shopping only a 5 minute walk. Would definately go back.
“Amazingly Friendly”
The Arora hotel (pronounced Aurora) welcomed us with open arms. Our room was immediately ready, at 10 am, the staff was very helpful as we tried to become oriented to a new city with advice about taxis, buses, ATMs, sandwich shops, and a place to watch the Giants game! There were a few glitches -- no hairdryer, internet connection broken, etc -- that were quickly and efficiently solved. We hope to be back in Manchester in 2010 -- and the Arora will be at the top of our list!
“Will definitely be back”
Brilliant hotel, couldn't fault it at all. Very friendly and really helpful reception staff; pointed us in the right direction & provided maps as we hadn't been in Manchester before. Rooms were immaculate, very spacious; we didn't opt for breakfast but had dinner & cocktails in the funky restaurant in the basement (Obsidian) which was super and great value for a 3 course meal. Hotel is located within easy walking distance of all the shops & nightlife. Would recommend without hesitation and when we go back for another weekend in Manchester this is where we'll be staying!
“Great Hotel”
This hotel is situated in an ideal location for exploring Manchester. There was no traffic noise and it was very peaceful and calm. The reception team were extremely helpful and friendly both on arrival and departure and provided us with plenty of local tips - particularly when recommending somewhere to eat. The room was clean and tidy with all that you would need for a comfortable and restful stay.
