Simple hotel close to city centrePosted May 27, 2015
Parking is extremely expensive and if you dont do valet it is far from the hotel, and just as expensive. Simple hotel with nice rooms, good bathroom. Our room wasnt made up each day, we had to ask to get it done! Staff were friendly. Best thing is the lication.

DisappointedPosted May 12, 2015
Spent A LOT on a two night stay (Fri & Sat) in balcony suite to have a few days away from children and celebrate my Wife's 40th Birthday. Initial impressions were very favourable of the hotel and the room, although a had a take a hit on valet car parking £70 for two days, which is a bit steep considering they run your car around to the nearby NCP as they have no on-site parking. Things went downhill in evening when a function several floors below us (we were on 5th) cranked the music up through late evening until 12:50am. Hearing music thumping through your room when you've paid that much was pretty upsetting. Eventually got to sleep around 1:30am - not what I was hoping for when staying away from young children for the first time in ages! Explained to hotel reception the next day that I had little sleep and was pretty disappointed to be kept up and asked if similar would happen again the following evening, only to receive a scant apology & a "I don't know", & that was that. I didn't feel like my experience or feedback was particularly valued. Needless to say that evening, the same noise again this time for a Wedding. I would have mentioned it again on check out the following morning, but on checking out, (and in fact at any time during our stay) no-one asked "did I have an enjoyable stay?". I don't know if I was more disappointed not to be asked, or with the lack of sleep! Overall expected more for the money. I expected to be able to sleep, & expected to feel more valued.

A star plus (nearly)Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: City view from room. Good bedroom and ensuite arrangement and facilities. Plenty of clothes hangers and hanging space. Ironing. Robes and slippers,
Cons: Better coffee in the bedrooms, with complimentary snacks. Shower area not quite free draining
Location: Very good central Manchester hotel so easy to get out to enjoy the many attractions. A good restaurant and bar in the hotel.
Very welcoming and helpful at reception. On 11th floor to start with but asked to change ( I am a light sleeper and could hear 'the plant' on the roof). Changed our room with no fuss to 12th floor (still some plant noise but less). The room sizes was more than adequate and we had a great view of the city roofscape, Town Hall, library and the Peninnes in the distance. The ensuite was very good with bath and shower although a minor irritant was that some water spilled into the adjacent area and didn't drain easily. Plenty of hanging room and clothes hanger with a good iron and board. Recharging facility for iPhone with a combined player. Breakfast was served in the room , some items were missing but a quick call put that right Parking was simple and could be done through a valet if required I think they could make more of the Free Trade Hall connection, it's relevance to the history of Manchester both old and more recent (THE Sex Pistols gig!)

From the minute the concierge Jack introduced himself out on the steps of the hotel to take our luggage to the moment the door was held open for us as we left the whole experience of our overnight stay was faultless, we have stayed at the hotel before and look forward to visit again next month.
