“Manchester's Free Trade Hall Radisson”
We decided to overcome our jet lag by staying in Manchester before heading to Yorkshire. The Radisson Free Trade Hall Hotel is a modern building attached to the historic Free Trade Hall. Only the lobby and restaurant are part of the historic structure, the rest of the hotel is new. The restaurant OPUS is beautiful and our dinner and tea were both delicious. There is a nice pool. The location was safe and convenient. Don't miss the John Ryland Library. We took each of the three free City buses and enjoyed a free tour of the whole city which is very vibrant. Manchester is the "home" of the industrial revolution and we enjoyed learning more about that and seeing the sites. They have recovered nicely from the "moving on" of the textile industries. We would indeed stay again.
“Great Place to Stay in Manchester”
We were able to get a really great rate for a weekend stay and everything about our experience was great. Hotel staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms were nice, our only complaint was the bed was a little soft for our liking. The area was central to transportation and the city center. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better hotel experience.
“A bit hoity toity”
Top class hotel, but we were really put off by the door-men not letting us bring our friends into the hotel bar with us Saturday night. Given that every other bar was either closed or crowded to the sidewalks with scantily clad young girls and chavs we thought the hotel bar/ lounge would be a nice alternative, but the two doormen stopped us and said that we weren't allowed to bring guests in (not just to the bar, but even to the hotel), that it was residents-only... even though my girlfriend and I were residents we could not bring our two guests in. Seeing as I paid a fairly premium price for the room I found this an unacceptable policy. We had to wander around in the cold for a bit seeking an alternative and found one at our friend's hotel, the Rembrandt... a much less nice hotel, but one that was less stuffy and more fun. And no one stopped us to tell us that we couldn't go in as guests. The actual Edwardian hotel itself is very nice... clean, modern and top-quality. But I wouldn't stay there again because of the snobby exclusivity. It really put me off.
“One of the best hotels in Manchester”
Exellent hotel with perfect service and locaiton; all attractiona are around. the SPA is well meaintained and has a very good programme
“Posh Manchester hotel”
Beautiful Central Manchester hotel. Fantastic location. Cheerful, helpful staff. Get out early if you want your room cleaned though. The rooms are modern and comfy. Sits on the site of the historic Free Trade Hall which has a lot of Manchester music scene from the Punk era(which means something to me anyway).
“Well impressed”
Nice, clean at the heart of Manchester.
“Manchester Edwardian”
Excellent hotel and great location, within walking distance of central attractions. Also, seems to always be full of celebrities. Bumped into many a soccer player during my stay. Restaurant is really good and wine list is good. I would definitely reccomend it.
