“can't wait to go back”
The hotel was nicer than the pictures on the website. We arrived very early at the hotel(our flight arrived in manchester at 7:00 am) and we didn't have any trouble checking in when we arrived. I was extremely happy with the hotel and our room. The staff there were very friendly and helpful with any questions you may have. We would definitely go back.
“Excellent service, ideal location”
Superb hotel in excellent location, ideal for Granada Studios and Arndale Centre. They even parked the car for me on arrival at no extra cost, cars are parked in NCP car park next to hotel. Will definatly stay there again.
“Fantastic! Fantastic!”
Having previously lived in Manchester for many years, i'd always wanted to stay in The Midland. So for my boyfriend's birthday i booked us in. The foyer is spectacular with its huge pillars, gorgeous seating areas and fabulously designed 1920's style reception desk. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and were more than happy to help with any request. The room was beautiful with dark wood, luxurious bed and wonderful dressing table with hairdrying facilities and flat screen TV. We had drinks in the hotel bar before going out for dinner. It was so lovely to recline in the comfortable sofas watching the comings and goings in the foyer. Truly fantastic hotel! Would highly recommend!!
“Excellent Stay”
The reception area is very attractive and the staff attentive. The valet parking is handy but pricy at 20.00. The room was clean and looked fairly newly renovated. The French Restaurant looked very promising but was fully booked. The manager went out of his way to get us a reservation and although it was for fairly late in the evening was appreciated. Overall an excellent stay.
“Enormous and glorious”
I had an inside corner room, it was simply the biggest hotel room I have stayed in. Two king beds, widescreen tv, sofa, coffee table, desk easy chairs, cupboard mini bar coffee making facilities, full size iron & board. I was a lone woman, I ate in the French restaurant and was treated like a princess, the meal was superb, I got the best table in the room and was completely indulged.
“Fantastic Hotel”
I had a wonderful stay. The staff was fantastic. The hotel lobby was beautiful and my room was very comfy. I prefer thicker pillows. That would have been the only thing I would have changed.
“Very impressed Hotel of very high standard”
I realise that there is a shortage of parking in Manchester City but feel that it would be a good idea for the Midland to have a portion of parking in the nearby car park facility. It could be added into the hotel bill but possibly at a slightly reduced rate.
“Really enjoyed our stay....”
we stayed at the hotel on a saturday night and whilst it is a very large hotel found the staff to be very attentive and the service personal. our room was large, very clean and comfortable. the hotel is as central as any other and you can easily walk or tram to bars, restaurants and the main shopping areas such as the arndale.. we had not been to central manchester before and both the hotel and city exceeded expectations.. would definately visit again and would stay here again.
“Impressive”
Very nice hotel. Parking fairly convenient but the quality and comfort of the rooms was second to none and a great retreat in a busy city centre. Extremely well decorated and bags of character
“A Manchester Classic”
The Midland is a classic hotel by anyone's standards and a Manchester classic in particular. The building is a wonderful example of Victorian brick architecture but one that has been updated internally to provide large comfortable and surprisingly modern rooms. This was our first stay at the Midland and we'd definitely stay again. It's not cheap... not at all cheap... but the quality is very high and it really gives you a taste for the high end of Manchester life. Just hanging out in the lounge and people watching was great fun. It's a great place for business meetings - in fact a plaque informs you that Mr.Rolls and Mr.Royce met at the Midland to form their well known company.
