You don't have to limit your sightseeing to the points of interest in Mancos because the whole region has been blessed with an abundance of interesting sights and attractions. Take a trip to the Anasazi Heritage Center and Canyons of the Ancients National Monument in and around Dolores, approximately 15 miles (24 kilometers) to the southeast of Mancos.
When vacationing in Mancos, see Cortez. Approximately 16 miles (26 kilometers) away, this regional city is home to Mesa Verde National Park Entrance, Cortez Cultural Center and Yucca House National Monument. Hovenweep National Monument and Lowry Pueblo are also well-worth calling into while you are here.
Stop by Southwest Colorado's popular archeological sites, it's a good way to gain an understanding of the region's colorful history.
