Booked this hotel through Expedia and had the best experience. The hotel is beautiful very art deco and you feel like you are in The Great Gatsby. The room was huge, plush and comfortable. Did not want to leave the sumptuous bed, but its great location next to Central Park was key to visit this beautiful area, near the Museums and fantastic restaurants. On 5th Avenue so easy to walk to the shops. The staff were very helpful, always cheerful and happy to accommodate any request.

Beautifully refurbished, the Plaza lived up to expectations. Brilliantly located on corner of Central Park South, just at 5th Ave Subway stop. Our room was spotless, very comfortable and probably the quietest hotel room we'd ever slept in - no disturbances from other guests or noise from the streets below. (We were on the 18th Floor.) Generous and good-quality toiletries, well-proportioned bathroom with separate shower room.
Staff always happy to help, but discreet.
We only ate once in the hotel - in the Todd English restaurant. Food was really good, but we had to sit at the counter, as there's not a very big seating area. Good variety of options in the Food Hall, and lively atmosphere.
We'd definitely consider another visit - which is rare for us as we prefer trying new places.
Would certainly recommend it.

We chose the Waldorf because it was an extra special occasion for us - our 30th wedding anniversary! We just knew it would be an extra special place to celebrate. The facility is just gorgeous and conveniently located to the shows we wanted to see and not far from Macy's and Central Park and 5th avenue shopping. Our room was one of the ones that had a tiny little hallway to it. We just loved that! The whole hotel has such character and history. We enjoyed seeing the pictures in the lobby of the old hotel and famous visitors to the hotel. We arrived a little early and the staff found us a room before official check-in time. That was really nice since we had gotten up at 4am that morning. Everything was just beautiful and always seemed exciting every time we walked through the front door with beautiful piano music, well dressed people going to dinner, lots of people checking in, and that buffet on Sunday looked and smelled amazing! Thanks for a great 30th trip to NYC!!

On arrival, Ronnie the doorman greeted us with open arms and handled our luggage. Peter at check-in whizzed us through and we were in our lovely room overlooking Greeley Square view within 10 minutes, wonderful when you have been travelling all the way from Scotland, UK. Within 1 hour we were making our way round the corner to the Empire State Building.
The Martinique Restaurant has a wonderful breakfast menu and we ate there every morning, service excellent too.
Room was cleaned every morning, never disturbed once for access and an abundance of fresh clean towels in the bathroom each day was fantastic. The tea and coffee for the in-room coffee machine was replenished every day and a nice touch with the multitude of comfortable pillows on the beds was very inviting on our return each day.
