Booked this hotel through Expedia and had the best experience. The hotel is beautiful very art deco and you feel like you are in The Great Gatsby. The room was huge, plush and comfortable. Did not want to leave the sumptuous bed, but its great location next to Central Park was key to visit this beautiful area, near the Museums and fantastic restaurants. On 5th Avenue so easy to walk to the shops. The staff were very helpful, always cheerful and happy to accommodate any request.

Within minutes of leaving the hotel we could visit St. Patrick's Cathedral, which has been restored to its original beauty, and shop all of the flagship stores along Fifth Ave, or it was just as fun to window shop and see the holiday displays. The Christmas windows at Bergdorf's are so unique and creative. If you appreciate art and design the Bergdorf windows hit a home-run this year. The Saks windows have a great Christmas display but also see the light show at night-time on the front of Saks. The ice skating rink at Rockefeller Center is just a few minutes away from the Omni, and it was fun to just watch the ice-skaters, especially against the back drop of the huge, beautiful Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center at night.

Beautifully refurbished, the Plaza lived up to expectations. Brilliantly located on corner of Central Park South, just at 5th Ave Subway stop. Our room was spotless, very comfortable and probably the quietest hotel room we'd ever slept in - no disturbances from other guests or noise from the streets below. (We were on the 18th Floor.) Generous and good-quality toiletries, well-proportioned bathroom with separate shower room.
Staff always happy to help, but discreet.
We only ate once in the hotel - in the Todd English restaurant. Food was really good, but we had to sit at the counter, as there's not a very big seating area. Good variety of options in the Food Hall, and lively atmosphere.
We'd definitely consider another visit - which is rare for us as we prefer trying new places.
Would certainly recommend it.
