Hôtel pas à la hauteur

Posted Feb 4, 2015
Pros: Rien

Top notch hotel in Manila

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Pros: Staff, hotel/room condition, amenities.
Didn't know quite what to expect from this hotel when booking, but once we arrived, we were blown away. The hotel's first impression once inside was just a preface to its other great features. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating, knowledgeable, and helpful. All the amenities are above-standard, especially after I upgraded to the VIP floors (I highly recommend taking this upgrade if offered to you at check-in). The room was clean, contained far more goodies than anticipated, and provided a great view of the bay. If you're going to stay a night or two in Manila, whether for business or pleasure, this is the place spend it.

Average hotel with annoying security

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Comfortable beds, actual working hot water in the showers
Cons: Dump the ridiculous ostentatious security.
This hotel was average quality, average price and expensive food and drinks for the Philippines. The ridiculous security screening, metal detectors, bomb sniffing dogs and baggage searches upon arrival was annoying. I am after all a guest NOT a criminal. If I were a terrorist, I doubt that I would check in via the front door, maybe climb over the 6 ft fence in back by the pool instead?!?! It must be some sort of contest among upper end hotels in Manila to see who can put on the best security show to let their guests know that they are safe and valued. It's mostly just for show, if you like that sort of things. Personally, I'd prefer to be treated personably.

The Diamond Hotel: 5 star quality & great staff.

Posted Jan 17, 2015
This was my fourth reservation/stay at the Diamond Hotel. Despite that, at each check in you are treated like a stranger intent on stealing everything in the room, by requiring a PP 4000 peso deposit. Other hotels have a frequent visitor program, such as Shangri-La Hotels' Golden Circle Club, (it speeds up check in and departure) but not the Diamond Hotel. Their management department dropped the ball on this one.

Not the best hotel in Manila

Posted Jan 11, 2015
Cons: Room temperature is not comfortable. Too cold.
Location: Short walk to Robinson's Place. Nearby restaurants all around.
The busiest hotel I ever stayed in. Crowded lobby so you have to wait in line. When I got into the room, it was SUPER COLD. The AC must of been blasting like crazy. I believe the room temperature must of been 65 degrees Fahrenheit or 18 degrees Celsius. Way too cold for comfort. I had to turn off the AC and even when it's night time, it's still cold. Breakfast at the hotel lobby was crowded. Had to wait in line because all the tables were full, so try to eat there before 7am. Also you cannot wear sandals because they have a dress code policy for breakfast. Location is a short walk to Robinsons Place. Be careful with the narrow streets and crossing the roads. There will be people trying to get you to hook up with girls in this area.
