Poor service from an indifferent staff

Biggest disappointment: service. We had requested an early check-in however could not check-in (10:30 am) as no rooms were available. We took the complimentary hotel shuttle (runs every hour) to the nearby shopping mall & stayed there till after lunch. We came back to the hotel around 2 pm thinking that the room would be ready by now but to our surprise they informed us again that their check-in time is 3 pm and that the rooms are not yet ready. The attendant didn't even offer to expedite the cleaning of the room & after finishing the check-in paperwork just told us that we will have to wait. Finally the room was ready at 2:58 pm !!!!! The room was spacious (2 bedroom unit), however the living room reeked of very strong cigarette smell & the carpets needed some serious cleaning. The bathroom seemed aged and the shower pipe was leaking. The air-conditioning was not the best and it took quite a while for the room to get cooler. The breakfast was very limited and not appetizing. In summary, this place has probably seen better days and now needs some serious overhauling. It also is struggling for identity as a hotel or a serviced apartment for medium/long term stay. In either case the service & the attitude of the staff need BIG improvement. For me that alone will be the reason not to get back.

Pros: Rooms were big but we didn't really need that much space. Free shuttle to greenbelt
Cons: No wifi in room, smell and heat in foyer and lifts
Location: Nothing good is in walking distance. You need taxis everywhere. You're in the middle of the city with banks and hotels surrounding you.
No wifi in rooms was disappointing. You need to sit in the lobby entrance. No air con in the foyer when you step out of the room made waiting for the lift to arrive very unpleasant. The smell in that area was also overwhelming and not what you would expect for inside your hotel. Pool area needs an update.

Fraser Place - A bit older but good square footage

Arrived to Fraser Place around 1:30p and was told my room would not be available until 3:00p which isn't exactly what any traveler wants to hear after a long flight. Nonetheless, they kindly upgraded me to a 2 bed room, 2 bath suite w/ full kitchen, dining room and living room. The unit itself (#1004) was quite large but it was a bit dated. The furniture was acceptable but there was an obvious smoker who rented the room before me. The scent lingered all 4 nights i was there. There was internet but only available in the bedroom w/ ethernet plug. This is 2013 afterall and a room of this price range and caliber should have wifi. The breakfast was terrible, don't expect too much. The gym is equally bad.

I chose this hotel because it was one of the few allowing pets. Before booking, I looked up the hotel policies on pet guests to make sure I wouldn't be breaking any rules when I check in and to help manage my expectations. I knew I wasn't going to be given their best room. Upon check-in, I was asked if I was aware that I will have to pay the pet surcharge if I'm checking in my dog, too. I said no but I was willing to put up a deposit. I was told the amount was not a deposit but in addition to the hotel room charge. So I challenged that as a hidden charge as that amount payable was nowhere to be found in the fine print whether as an asterisk or footnote of either expedia.com or the hotel website. Apparently, those who make hotel reservations over the phone are the only ones informed about the new hotel policy implemented just earlier this year. I understood where they were coming from as pets can be so destructive and the hotel rooms did have nice parquet flooring but I would have appreciated fair warning. Maybe I should have considered bringing my pet as a special request which I should have cleared with the hotel first. Anyway, the situation was handled extremely well by the hotel staff and I was given a 50% discount on the pet surcharge on the spot. I choose to believe that it was a fair settlement between consumer rights and estafa charges. Busted budget aside, my dog and I had a wonderful stay there.

big rooms and great location . for me there was no option in the brekfast buffe which i dont like it. but the room service kithen was graet.

It is extremely dated and our room was musty and dusty. The bathroom was moldy and unkempt. The service was extremely nice and we had a lovely dinner at the on-site restaurant. The hotel just needs a serious overhaul. We stayed there because we're a family of five and we only needed a one-night stay before we moved on to our final destination. For this reason, it was cost-effective. I would not recommend it.

BREAKFAST

I had to pay for the breakfast for my wife although I booked the 1-bedroom apartment. At the point of booking with your website, it showed 2 head-count, room with breakfast. Front Office told me that their policy is 1 breakfast for 1-room apartment, 2 breakfasts for 2-room apartment. I feel that they are using some form of trickery to increase their income. To add further insult, the breakfast spread was meagre. This episode left a sour taste.
