“A Day At the InterCon in Makati”

The first and indelible impression you will get at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Makati is the friendliness and responsiveness of the hotel staff, which is exceptional. The hotel property is one of the oldest in Makati but centrally located in the shopping district close to shopping malls, convenient restaurants, and plenty of entertainment venues. The property does need to upgrade its fitness facility ( currently a Gold's Gym concession) and its F&B outlets. The food and service at the F&B is acceptable but not extraordinary. However, the food and beverage of the Inter-Continental lounge is a highlight of my stay there. For a first time or frequent traveler to Manila, I would recommend a stay at the Hotel Inter-Continental in Makati.

Area recommendations

Makati is centrally located to shopping, financial businesses, restaurants and entertainment venues. Glorietta Malls and Greenbelt shopping areas have more stores and F&B outlets than you can explore in three days.

“Average”

We requested and they confirmed King bed but apparantely was not available ... so we got twin beds. We had to leave 2 days ahead (fully paid) and they were not kind enough to give us any complimentary or discount on expenses like Internet ... no newspaper to us while was available to others. Service was just ok

Manila has little to offer to a tourist but I believe beaches are nice, typhoons permitting

“Great People, Great Location”

Stayed at the hotel for a week and overall enjoyed my experience. Great location and staff is very friendly and helpful. Only drawback is the shower temperature at times goes from warm to very hot in an instant, also the gym is often very crowded as it is shared with the public. Overall, I had a nice time and will stay there again on my next visit.

“great makati location”

Nice hotel, great staff and wonderful location. The rooms can use new carpets but the rooms were kept clean. The only negative is the gym is shared with the public and it is very difficult to find a vacant treadmill. Overall it is a nice hotel

“Impressed with their customer service”

The hotel is conveniently located if you like to be close to shopping. Public transportation is walking distance. They have wine buffet at the restaurant on the ground floor. The concierge was extremely helpful. She assisted us in booking our tours to Pagsanjan Falls and Trekking to Taal Volcano plus answered all our inquiries about the airport and airline luggage weight limitations. We had a very pleasant stay and would love to stay here when we return to Manila.

“Location is the Key”

The Manila Intercon is located in the heart of Makati and literally within the large Glorietta shopping mall. To the extent Manila traffic permits anything to be close to anything else, this hotel is close to the airport. This is a vinage hotel, part of the high quality Ayala Group of the Philippines. The hotel is superbly maintained and well managed. The staff can be excessively "official" at times, but are generally friendly and kind to guests.

Area recommendations

Makati. The central business and shopping area of Manila in reasonably close proximity to the airport.
