Posted Jan 9, 2015
Pros:
Cons:
Location:

Very classy hotel - can improve service

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: Ambiance, staff
Cons: Concierge
Location: Rizal park, intramuros, Celdran tour
Pros: The hotel structure, décor, and design is very classy - I enjoyed the magnificence of the lobby! The rooms are well appointed, we were billeted in the original building facing Rizal park. Housekeeping was very meticulous, and staff, in general, were very courteous and helpful. Reception: Geneva is an asset to this hotel. We had some confusion about our booking via expedia, but I commend Geneva for being the epitome of customer service - she is world class - Not only did she actually listen to what I have to say, she was empathetic. I knew it was not her fault, but she made a point of apologizing for the inconvenience even upon checkout (days after the confusion took place!). She took care of business when there was a question about some charges. I would come back to this hotel if this was the type of customer service all the time! Macarthur suite tour: Shirley was a top notch guest relations officer. Great tour and nice glimpse of history. Cons: On the day we went to the concierge (1/1/15), there was a lady who was working on receipts, and not wanting to make eye-contact with me who is obviously waiting to be helped. Why are staff doing paperwork at the concierge desk? If they are not there to help customers, they should be a the back office. They give the impression that they have something better to do than helping you out! Unfortunately, I did not see her name tag.

Unexpected delight

Posted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: Rooms accommodation, staff service, location
Cons: Pool - not heated. Very cold to swim with the kids Checkin/checkout could be faster
Location: Explore many activities by the bay, watch fireworks at the bay, visit Luneta Park
It was my first time to stay at the Manila Hotel for the new year's eve festivities. I was very pleasantly surprised with the accommodation we got. I booked three rooms for my family. All of them were adjacent to each other. The rooms were spacious with a very comfortable bed. We had a balcony overlooking the bay. The bathroom was big with a tub and a nice shower area. There was even a tv monitor mounted on the wall of the bath tub. The staff were attentive and courteous. The included breakfast buffet at the renovated Cafe Ilang-ilang had awonderful selection of food items.

Posted Jan 2, 2015

buffet breakfast is not worth the $$$

Posted Dec 29, 2014
the place is old and surprisingly considered a 5 star hotel. Staff and decor are great but it feels really old. The food is ridicolously expensive for the price theyre asking. Very limited choices in the breakfast buffet and ricicolously expensive.

Great venue for reunion

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: The ambience and grand interiors.
Cons: I wish they could do something about that pungent outdoor smell by the pool. Please get rid of that moldy smell in the hallways.
Location: It's walking distance to the parks but far from shopping malls and restaurants
It's really great that my family have enjoyed their stay. Manila Hotel has done a great job in maintaining the original beauty of one of the historic places in Intramuros. Nice dining places and don't be late during breakfast and you'll be stuck in that freezing corner of the dining hall.

Great hotel and staff however.............

Posted Dec 29, 2014
Pros: very historic and nice location
Cons: give deposits back as promised!!
Location: mall and park
We stayed here on 3 occasions and all 3 reservations were pre-paid. Upon checking in they charged my credit card "A Refundable Deposit" which I have not seen credited back yet nearly a month later!! We did not touch anything in the room bar or fridge or do anything to incur and additional charges?! If you prepay be careful about giving them a deposit as it appears they never give this back!!!!
