“Not Impressed”
The overall cost was too much comparing to other hotels in the area. The room was very small and it was supposed to be the deluxe.
“It was better last year.”
I last there last year and it wasn't that bad. But this year was terrible. The first room I checked into was very old carpet, wallpaper, tv, even the entire bathroom. I didn't have water in the room and the refrig was empty. I had to wait almost 1 whole day until I was able to get another room. Plus, they charge you every time you pick up the phone. I even had a PDLT card and the charged me for using there phone because I had a card. I will not stay here ever again.
“The hotel was once nice...and it was years ago.”
I booked two rooms for my family and requested for adjacent rooms and i got one room on 14th floor and the other on the 18th floor. The location is superb and very accessible to foods, shopping and public transportation. I dont consider this hotel family friendly since we saw a lot of "prostitutes" and their customers all over the hotel, well its in Ermita area the famous red light district of manila. The bathrooms are nasty and needs to be renovated, the shower rod is rusty, and i had to call the maintenance since part of the ceiling is not there ! (apparently somebody went there and fixed it and forgot to put that part of the ceiling back), the housekeeping should be told to work better since i found about an inch thick dust behind the night stand. The lobby is small but elegant, breakfast is good but needs variety. On the good side, the staff are real pleasant and helpful.
“Waterfront Pavilion Hotel and Casino, Manila”
I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. The Casino and the Lobby are the only two places that are kept clean. My Junior Suit looks like a horror movie from the 70's... The furniture is so old is falling apart and every chair has a stain. The carpet has a stench and every other inch on the carpet has a stain. The only good thing about this hotel is the people. They know how bad the hotel is but they still treat you like the number one guest. The location and the services 4 star. The rest of the hotel 2 star.
“disappointed”
the 1st thing i noticed was the overwhelming smell of smoke in the lobby ;coming from the casino within the hotel. the hotel was "renovating" throughout various floors and the wifi (although "free") was unsatifactory
“Don't do it”
Maybe worth the money, but I don't think so. Most none Filipinos will not like the constant heat of the room. I actually asked to change rooms in hopes of getting something decent, was the same issues: always a bit warm and muggy in room, mold through out bathroom, dirty appearance in general. Close to Manila Bay, but still far enough most people will take a taxi. The food was not terrible though. My suggestion is spend a little more and go to nicer hotel. The hotel people were nice...but it's Philippines...they are nice everywhere.
“nice hotel for the price”
The hotel met our expectations as family traveling wih young kids. The staff and personnel were always helpful and courteous. We are thinking of making it our regular hotel when we come for a visit.
“inaccurate description”
Carpet is dirty and smelly and musty..Burned spots can be seen like it was used as a smoking room before.Bathroom is clean.Neighborhood is not too good.Careful with pickpockets like anywhere.Dirt all over the area Food and service is excellent.
“Bed top covers are old & floor carpets are old, needs to be changed. Hotel service excellent!”
Hotel service is excellent!
“It's a dump!”
Although the people at the front desk are very friendly and accomodating (same with bell service and security people) the rooms at the Manila Pavilion are old and dilapidated. Carpet looks very run down and dirty, Bathroom leaks; fixtures are old and rusty, shower curtain stained and raggedy. The non-smoking room smells musty and moldy. Rooms needed renovation badly and definitely not worth the price. Free breakfast has adequate food selection but supplies very inadequate ( mostly empty) and service very poor for lack of sufficient help. I had to go get my own coffee and my own utensils. Location is great and easily acessible. Close to the airport and to Mall of Asia and to the LRT. I wouldn't mind coming back and stay again at the Pavilion when all its rooms are properly updated and refurbished.
