“Great location for those seeking authentic Manila!”
Knowing little about Manila, I picked this hotel based on the reviews posted on Expedia. I am happy to report that it exceeded my expectations on every level! However, potential travelers need to understand that the neighborhood of Ermita may not be for everyone. I was surprised upon arrival to see prostitutes and homeless people seemingly everywhere. As a westerner, it is not possible to walk 50 feet without being approached by a fake Rolex vendor, offer of a "girl", or just a request for money. At least all are very polite! There are KTV bars and massage parlors everywhere. This is apparently in the red light district. Having said that, after a day, I became comfortable, and truly began to appreciate the area. The area is close to many cultural attractions. There is a lot of history in this neighborhood, it is vibrant, and it is for the most part - safe. Every hotel, store, casino, etc... has an armed security officer posted in front. With the exception of pick pocketing, I don't think there is a lot of violent crime here. This area is not for the easily offended or faint of heart, but it is very authentic. I recommend it for the adventurous. As for the hotel, it is a very safe, clean, and secure island in the midst of the action. The staff are always courteous and security is very good. Room safes are provided. The rooms are very modern and clean. There is a 7-11 store next to the lobby that is open 24/7 - Very convenient! Highly recommend this place!
“A real find”
Very good value especially if you catch a promo, when the prices are really low. The location is excellent, close to everything
“Best hotel for your money around MetroManila.”

“The best for the price”
The location for me was very good because it was near mall of Asia and a wonderful night life and the friendly smiles of the staff means a lot that's again "Tune Hotel"
“superb”
very nice hotel stay our second time in manila superb.
“Great hotel for travelers.”
Overall a good hotel experience. Room is clean. The only downside of this hotel is its entrance location because when u get off the taxi, you still need to enter/walk a hallway to the the main entrance.kind of a hassle if you're alone and with luggages to carry inside.
“This is the standard in economy travel”
Loved it! This business model is genius... This hotel is very modern and clean and a super terrific value for your money. You cannot get a Better bang for your buck. You pay for what you need, no unnecessary frills that run up the cost, this was a ver enjoyable stay. excellent for the soloist and active couples as well but possibly a bit of a stretch for family stays. The hotel is situated in a very active area, many bars and night life which obviously includes done undesirable activity. I consider this hotel and location to be the terrific because of the convenience. Robinson's mall is within walking distance as well as the Hyatt Filipino Casino that has a nice lounge which provides a more relaxed environment.
“Tune Hotel Manila”
Tune Hotel is a new chain in Asia. The rooms are very small but very clean and then bed and bedding is quite good. They seem to have taken a "pay for what you need" approach. So you might get a really low rate and if you do not read ahead of time you will find out you need to pay extra for TV, Air Conditioner, Internet, and even the towels in the room. But once again I knew all this going in and I was very surprised to find out that when I went to check in that all the extras were already included in the price I paid. I thikn better to book online from a travel site and not use their reservation site. The area this hotel is in is not a family place. Anyone that knows Manila should know this. If you do not know Manila do a little research first if you are looking for a real "family friendly" area. This is old Manila, and it shows its age and the area is well known for all the things that happen there. This being said there seems to be a realy effort in place to clean this area up but as with most things in the Philippines it will take time. The Tune Hotel was honestly a pleasant surprise to me. I went in expecting not this good and I came away very happy and would stay there again and would recomend this hotel to others.
“Very small rooms but clean and modern.”
I booked with Expedia on one of their sale date. It included the TV, Aircon, toiletry, and Wifi use in the room. There was complimentary internet at the lobby timed at 30 minutes. But 30 minute extensions were granted. No Skype capability. The rooms were very small. There was no locker for my clothes. Only a rack was provided. There was an in room safe. The bathroom was clean and had good water stream. The aircon was not noisy. No phones in the room. The big drawback was that late check-out time was only at 2PM with no option of extending it to half a day more. One had to book another whole day stay. Unfortunately, all the rooms were fully booked. My option was to leave my baggage at the concierge and pay 120PhP for two bags. Thankfully, I found a spa at Robinsons to take a bath in and get a massage before my flight. Location is in Mabini with bars around it. Not difficult to get a taxi. A 7-11 24 hour convenience store was just right out of the lobby. Big plus! Nickle and diming may not work for a lot of people. For people who are busy out of the hotel the whole day, and just crash in at night, the Tune system works. Booking with Expedia during their sale at this hotel is a good deal. I just hope Expedia informs the customers that the extent of late check-out is strictly at 2PM and that beyond it, one has to book an extra full day.
