Quaint, historic hotel in Manitou Springs

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Location: Town of Manitou Springs is small & cute! Few restaurants and shops, the incline and pikes peak cog railway just around the corner. Nice place.
Traveled to Manitou for Spring Break and staying in a small room with a Queen size bed. Hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming upon arrival, valet parking was nice and there was no trouble getting checked in. Room was clean, looked well-put together, but was a little dated just because of the history of the hotel. Our room smelled a bit musky, but overall it wasn't bothersome. The walls are quite thin, we could hear all the showers around us loudly and people making a ruckus upstairs in the evenings. Continental buffet breakfast in the morning was very nice; variety of offerings from oatmeal and pastries to quiche, eggs, pancakes and breakfast meats. Overall, good hotel with nice amenities, but prices were a bit steep for the outdated rooms, paper-thin walls and not much "wow" factor. The staff is on-point and definitely did make staying there enjoyable.

Historic charmer

Centrally located , very walkable town. Things do close up at 5:pm hotel was excellent. $10 million renovation, quality everywhere . We felt welcome and relaxed. Doormen, desk clerks , valet all had genuine smiles and greetings for us. Excellent buffet breakfast. My daughter and I stayed in the twin beds studio and we're wrapped in comfort.

A trip through time

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Everything.
Cons: Having the dining room open more.
Location: Location was perfect. Train rides, sightseeing, quaint shops in and around town. Garden of the Gods was a great cliff-dwelling place to hike/visit.
Arrived tired from the drive. Was immediately pampered with Valet parking. Then my things were taken up to my room. The ice bucket was filled and my suitcases set on the stands. Went down, after relaxing, and had a wonderful dinner. Slept like a baby. I did not hear loud noises from the rooms around me, nor was I disturbed with any noises through the open window. I honestly felt as though I'd stepped back in time, during the turn of the century. It was truly special. The women at the front desk, and the gentlemen who parked and retrieved my car were friendly and very professional. There was so much to see and do in the little town. Shopping, and sights to keep one busy all day long. I even enjoyed the gym down on the bottom floor. Would I come back again for another visit...absolutely. Sharon M.

Beautiful hotel

Not only is the hotel beautiful, the mountain view from it is incredible. The staff is very welcoming. The night auditor went out of his way to make sure my family had everything we needed to be comfortable.

Make sure before you book!

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: The room was fantastic"
Cons: The false advertising.
Location: Mountains to climb. Downtown Manitou Springs is great for local shopping.
Make sure you check the rates before hand. The hotel was great, but when it's listed at one price and ends up more than doubling, it's rediculous.

Really nice place for a get-away

Posted Mar 20, 2015
Pros: I like the character of the Cliff House. They really pay attention to detail in keeping with the Victoria era.
Cons: The bed cover and curtain looked a little worn, but that really just added to the antique feel of the place. I also could not adjust the thermostat.
Location: The location is right in down-town, so you can walk to shops, restaurants, and the penny arcade. It's really a unique little town and the Cliff fits r
The Cliff House is a very cozy, unique place - like the town of Manitou Springs where it is located. The included breakfast is really terrific! And dinner was delicious too! Very high-quality place. Loved it!

Bed and breakfast feel

Posted Mar 8, 2015
This has the charm of a bed and breakfast, with the ability to control the ac and heat we appreciate in a hotel room. We had a room with a fireplace and 2 person tub. We like the tub being in the bathroom versus the room. We also had a very nice dinner in their dining room. The valets were prompt and friendly.
