“Great Christmas Vacation 2009”

I don’t know why this hotel doesn’t have a better rating. The location is fabulous and it’s easy to get around to everywhere in Mankato. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable and the pillows were plush. I have no reservations in recommending this hotel. Only complaint was that the pool was a little cool and there were many nights when families hogged the hot tub for hours.

“Nice, clean and convenient to shopping, etc.”

Hotel was smaller than expected, but the rooms were nice and clean and friendly staff. Also quiet and less traffic than a larger hotel.

“Great for one night or short stay.”

Motel is a bit run down but fine. I liked that the rooms had exterior as well as interior doors. the room was large and had a very nice tv.

“There are better places to stay in Mankato”

Clean, beds are excellent, TV's old but have good variety of channels. This particular Comfort Inn is on the low end of the "limited service" category. No microwave or refrig in rooms (Exc. "Suites") most hotels in this class have refrig/micro in room. Sparce morning breakfast but they only serve til 9am. No elevator in this 2 story hotel. Internet is slow .39 on speed check. Nice pool and hot tub. Rarely see anyone in them however. Great location, a block from the Mall and restaurants galore within walking distance. Really in the heart of the Mankato retail area.

“Ok for the price”

Everything was acceptable for the price and location. Only complaint was that the waterpipes in the shower squealed. Irritating, but not a serious problem.

“Very unpleasant experience!”

As I entered the hotel lobby I was met with the smell of cigarette smoke. I am not a smoker and therefore found the smell offensive. I requested a non-smoking room. Unfortunately, it was across the hall from rooms in which smoking was allowed which caused the smell of smoke to permeate. I didn't research this hotel carefully enough as I needed to make arrangements on very short notice and used proximity and price as the deciding factors. In the future, I would rather pay and additional $50 to reserve a room elsewhere.

“Poor service, needs serious updating, not clean.”

Not very clean, rooms are in serious need of updates. Toilet clogged. Called the desk and manager came and handed me a plunger and said to leave it in the bathroom.... and left! Will not stay at this hotel again.
