Comfortable hotel near Kenyon College.

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: I loved the pillows and bed. I used the in room fridge, freezer and microwave. Parking was abundant and easy to navigate.
Cons: I could hear the people in the room above me. I would have used a beverage vending machine if it were available.
Location: Kenyon College.
3 night stay while visiting Kenyon College with my teenage daughter in April. Kenyon College is a quick and easy 5 minute drive away.

High price for poor product.

Posted Sep 17, 2012
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Awful smell throughout building and room.
Location: Close to center of town and local colleges
Hotel had a bad odor throughout. Lots of deferred maintenance issues. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Expensive hotel for the quality. In Mount Vernon you have very little choice which is why this hotel can get away with charging such a high price for a poor product.

Nice hotel; nicer when not at max guest capacity

Posted Jun 19, 2012
Pros: Staff, room cleanliness
Cons: Screaming tennis kids (10 year olds?) in the pool, whipping a giant inflatable ball at each other & other guests. Parent/coach was useless/comatose.
Location: Easy access to main roads in/out of Mt. Vernon
Definitely overpriced for the location and amenities, but the Mount Vernon Super 8 was booked solid. Staff were very friendly and responsive, room was very clean. It did seem like the number of guests was too great for the staffing levels, and even the hotels resources. The breakfast area was very undersized, and the staff person responsible for food restocking was always behind. The front desk staff pitched in to help. Pool was nice; but also somewhat small for the number of guests. Towels ran out, had to ask for more.

Mount Vernon Stay

Posted Apr 16, 2012
Pros: The friendly staff.
Cons: I got a smoking room, it did not smell good, but that's to be expected, I am a smoker!
Location: Right on the edge of town and easy to find.
The staff were all so helpful and friendly. I asked about a good place to eat and not only received a great personal recommendation, but also a map of how to get there. Breakfast was hot and tasted great.

Would stay again

Posted Jun 18, 2011
The hotel desk clerk was friendly and checked me in quickly. The room was comfortable, clean and decor was up to date. The bedding was lovely and mattress was very comfortable and pillows were the best. Would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again; it is reflective of its name of "comfort."

Still hungry after breakfast

Posted Sep 22, 2010
Nice part of town and friendly staff. Bed was comfortable and room was as expected for hotel at this level. Only dissatisfaction was breakfast was pretty sparse even for "continental" especially with teenaged boys to feed. Other than that we were pleased with our stay and will return.
