I was on the North Coast of Ecuador for about two weeks before coming down to Manta. My diet largely consisted of fish and rice. I was looking for something different and Hotel Lun Fun fit the bill. I was surprised to see Hot and Sour soup on the menu. It was wonderful. I also had Mongolian Beef which was also excellent. Celia also recommended the Wonton soup and Rollos De Pollo, which were essentially stuffed chicken breast. Both were great. Although the hotel shows signs of age, it was a comfortable stay. I would definitely go back. My wife will make the same trip in February and she will stay here also. Celia, your chocolate covered pretzels are number one on her list of things to bring to Ecuador.

The hotel is right on the ocean so you can hear the waves at night if you don't use your air conditioning. When the tide is out, you can walk the beach right from the hotel. I saw workers making repairs and painting and was impressed with the fact that such care was taken with upkeep, but then I learned that there was going to be a large wedding reception and the entire hotel was reserved for the guests. Now I am not so impressed with the upkeep. The staff was great and very helpful, always with a smile. I would definitely go back.
