Location: We only stayed one night, so we didn't leave the resort at all.
The room we booked was a Junior Suite and yet was very spacious, clean, and the bathroom was luxurious. We loved it and want to go back some day.

Pros: The hostesses at both Capri and the buffet were very friendly. Great view. Quiet.
Cons: Let guys in tanks into buffet for lunch & breakfast, otherwise you had to go get changed or carry 2 shirts with you. Entertainment was sub par.
Location: The flea market in Santiago is great! Ask for Ricardo if you need a cab...he speaks English & you can hire him for the day too if you want.
Found the beds to be VERY hard...I like firm, but this was hard. Not a lot of action here. Disco opened at 11, but between dinner & that, there was no 'happening' place to be. We ended up at lobby bar (Laura & Luiz are amazing!) but with the lounge piano player 3 nights a week, not too exciting, although it was definitely better with the pianist there than without. Beach bar was very small, no more than 6 stools and no room to hang out. Bar tenders there weren't overly friendly. Resort is on a steep incline. While most is wheelchair friendly, we did see some people in chairs as well as elderly people struggle with the incline. Watch out for sand fleas...had to visit Wal-Mart to get meds for those. Didn't make it to Kyoto a la carte...that was supposed to be the best one...but most of the seats were reserved for the Premium Club and wouldn't open til closer to dinner time, so didn't bother. Didn't like that there were different levels of service & what was available to the different levels. Not a bad place, but won't go back...I need a bit more action. This is a great place for families with young kids as the beach is pretty safe (another downer for us but we did know going that it was protected) or the elderly who are very happy at night to play cards in the lobby. They seemed to have forgotten the middle group of people.

Beautiful hotel, family oriented but it could also be an adult gig as well. Nice beach and entertainment. However, service at the beach is in need of more waiters. One waiter was not enough for 60 people. Poor guy.

Best Kept Secret !!!

Pros: Could not be better! Small enough to feel cozy, large enough to have it all. Mature trees, shrubs and flowers were breathtaking.
Cons: nothing. The staffs English was generally very poor, but I actually liked this as we felt far removed from the conventional. We lacked for nothing.
Location: Not much to see or do, but thankfully the resort had it all and we were never bored in ten days. City tour was OK, but there is just not much to see.
Our mid February stay was the best of many Mexican vacations. We will be back next year! Great temps, very mild winds, perfectly laid out resort that was big enough to have everything, but small enough to feel cozy. Never had to wait in line or compete for a pool side chair. Food, staff, and evening entertainment was splendid. Loved our room and view. Mature plantings and flowers were breathtaking.

Great Hotel--NO BEACH

Location: There is a Walmart an other restaurants nearby. Miramar beach by taxi or bus.
We liked everything about this hotel -the rooms were great--the food was great--the grounds were beautiful. The major downfall of this hotel is that it doesn't have a long stretch of beach to take walks on. It is connected (via a gate and a downward path) to a long beach-- which is kind of dirty-but you have to climb over rocks and go through questionable water (depending on the tide) to get the long beach. Then you can walk a long past lots of condos etc and even get to a Walmart. Otherwise you can take the bus or taxi to Miramar beach. If you don't care a bout the beach--this a great place.

Pros: The staff was very friendly and in most cases spoke and understood english as our spanish is not so good. The view was second to none.
Cons: King beds need to be upgraded.
Location: We stayed at the Barcelo in Manzanillo and there was shopping close by, Walmart, flea market, banking,and restaurants.
We really enjoyed our stay at the resort, The food, services, room, and staff were absolutely great. The only complaint we had was the King bed should be replaced with a pillow top style as we had to request extra padding since the springs were jabbing us in the back. The staff made sure that problem was taken care of after the first night in the room. We went snorkeling with Jaime, and he was very knowledgeable about the area and spoke very good english. The sunset cruise was great and we met some really great people, and saw a pod of dolphins as well. We did some shopping off the resort and found we were very safe and were not bothered by vendors.

Overall a nice place to stay Front desk staff were a little rude at check in Must have had a bad day The snack bar was overdue for a cleaning when we arrived but seemed okay after that Average food quality but never any long lines The cost of internet is pretty high for it not being dependable Would come back
