This is an amazing property with beautiful groundsPosted Nov 24, 2013
Cons: can't think of anything
Location: Barra de Navidad has shopping, restaurants & some night spots with music.
Loved staying at Grand Bay; the main pool is very interesting with slides & waterfall, then there are 2 more private pools on 3rd floor & up on the 10th floor. The flowers, and many trees are kept lovely. The staff are super kind & friendly. Some don't have any English skills so if you can keep your Spanish vocabulary book handy , this will help. Front desk & concierge have good English & very helpful. The food was very good in all of the restaurants, and one bar in Antonio's restaurant has many Tequilas available to try. The small bay has calm sea waters, & you can sit there where it is quiet, or swing in a hammock. A short water taxi will take you over to Barra de Navidad if you want to shop. We don't golf, but we heard great praise about the golf course which is 9 holes X 3....so is very large. It is quiet & relaxing amid luxurious surrounding, and we will most certainly return.

Very nice hotel but my room had problems with ACPosted Jul 10, 2013
Cons: My AC didn't worked. I called front desk and nothing was done about it.
Location: Very private, good to vacation with or without family
Very nice hotel but my room had problems with AC, the beach is private with no waves, perfect for Kids, the pools are amazing, yes, the pools, there is approximately 3 pools within the hotels, ask at front desk, you might find a very private one for you and your family.

Amazing hotelPosted Jul 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
It is beautiful, inside and out. Rooms are okay, not the very best, but you can live with it, yet the bathrooms of these are espectacular. Very clean and nicely decorated. It is relaxing and the best part is that it's friendly to the environment. Perfect pick for when you are in Barra de Navidad for a vacation.

Unbelievably good place for the pricePosted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: We loved the room...spacious, great view, quiet. The pool was clean and spacious. Service from everyone was friendly and efficient.
Cons: The technology is not up to par with a resort of this quality. No flat screen TV and the hotels computer system is ancieint. Wifi was spotty.
Location: Eat at Ramon's in the village. Visit Playa de los Cocos. Beach can be nice north of the village. Quiet place.
Been visiting Barra de Navidad for years, but never stayed on the "island" at this resort hotel. Just went there during off season. Got a fabulous room for a very low price and we enjoyed the experience immensely. This place is truly a kind of island paradise with everything you could possibly want and more. The village of Barra de Navidad is lost in time...never developed. Unless you like fishing, there is next to nothing to do here. So the resort concept makes sense...wonderful pools, grounds, restaurants, and the service of the staff is superb. I'm not easily impressed, but if you can get a room here at a good price, you'll enjoy it. Shoot for the rooms with a "marina view." Highest floors are best.

Tranquil and prettyPosted May 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed it very much. The pool was big and well maintained. The food in both the bar and Grand cafe exceeded our expectations. The drink prices were very reasonable. The bed was comfortable. The gym was well equiped.

Past it's prime.Posted May 13, 2013
Pros: Location, friendly staff, and the golf course.
Cons: Update room furnishings and TV's. Seriously, what hotel of this caliber doesn't have flatscreen TV's?
Location: The littel town of Barra is cute enough and warrants exploring. Tons of water related activities at your fingertips.
I don't know how old this hotel is, but it definitely needs a facelift. The room was spacious and clean, with a beautiful view of the bay/lagoon. The hotel is very large and poorly marked for finding ones way around---wasted time wandering about lost and looking for things that would have been better spent enjoying the facilities. Restaurants: The Grand Cafe was just o.k. for dinner and a bit better for breakfast. The pricier Antonio's was not good. They wow'ed us with the appetizers and thoroughly disappointed all 4 of us with the entrees. I'd give Antonio's 1 out of 5 stars for food. The service was o.k. With cocktails, a couple of bottles of wine, 4 apps, and 4 entrees, $320 usd in Mexico should have given us an outstanding meal. The golfing was good. One thing to consider: I'm guessing we're just outside of high season, because the place was nearly empty. Experience has shown that the slower a place is, the poorer the quality of just about everything. Doesn't make sense, but I think in this case, it's true.

I thank you for taking the time to share your comments about your recent visit to the Wyndham Grand, Isla Navidad Resort and appreciate your valuable comments regarding our property and the service. We have improved menu in Antonio’s restaurant a couple of months ago and we have been getting a positive feedback from our guest. Still I see that we should reconsider some of the entrees for the next season so that all of our guest can be delighted with the dinner. I also would like to mention that we are doing a lot of improvement work in the low season to facelift the property for next season. I will be happy if you can visit us again and see the improvements we have done. Sincerely, Roland Bernard General Manager
