I stayed during the Carnival weekend/end of summer - a busy weekend in the area - but still, I regretted choosing it over far more affordable hostel rooms. My room was booked as an executive but was put into a room that barely fit a bed and a small table. However, the bathroom was nicely redecorated and it felt clean. The breakfast was decent enough, although it felt like a large cafeteria they herded us through as someone shuffled through their ipod over the sound system. Ah well, it's close to the (busiest) beach. Most of all, the desk staff were quite unhelpful and disinterested in their guests. I'm sure there are worse places to stay, just don't be disillusioned by the grandeur shown in some of the photos.

Hotel with views of sea and fountains

Cons: shower basin walls were low,.possibility of water leakage onto floor
Location: Shopping centre around the corner, lots of cafes and restaurants . Port.
Staff were efficient and helpful, reception area good. Lift. Room on front, third floor with views of sea, casino and fountains.. Spacious, two wardrobes, en suite, good fan. Large, comfortable bed. Good breakfast included in price - Tea,coffee, juice. Cereals, croissants, toast with butter and jams. 8-10.30AM. Better earlier, bit crowded later. Really enjoyed the water fountain and music entertainment on Wednesday night. We had front room seats from our bedroom window!

pros -smart, clean hotel. central location. friendly staff. close to sea. great price. Hotel has lots of amenities. cons - Wifi didnt work for 50% of time. Breakfast was pretty poor. terrible coffee. yesterdays medialunas and bread. pretty poor selection. Otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.

Riviera is WEAK

Not a good hotel. Cheap. Livable, but decieving when you walk into the lobby. Seems nice, but the rooms are bush league and not secure. No in room safe either. No wifi in our room. Looks like 1970 with no updates. Rickety and old. However it is cheap and in a good location. Much better at NH hotel across the street. For close to the same price.

Screwed up elevators

The hotel location was great and right accross the street from the casino, beach and tons of restaraunts. The hotel lobby was nice and had free wi-fi. The rooms were small, but for a 3 bed suite, it was nice that we each had our own rooms, although there was no common area to relax in once in the hotel room. Each room had a small wall mounted tv which was nice. The breakfast was no good. Shot glasses were used to serve warm water and the food consisted of dry bread, unfresh fruit, and some cereal. The elevators were the worst part of the hotel. They can only take 4 people and you get screwed if you're on any floor above 6. There are 2 elevators. One of them services floors 0 - 6 and the other services 0 - 9. Additionally, there is only one button that controls the elevators (there isn't even an up/down button). When you push the elevator button, you stand and wait for an elevator that is going your way, to your desired floor, and hope it doesn't have full occupancy. This seems like it could be corrected.
